Did anyone watch this? I only managed to catch a bit (I’m not really a fan), and it was so incredibly painful my eyes were watering. The way he went on and on about being in love, it just reeked of phoniness. Then again, maybe that’s just how he is. Did anyone see the part when Katie Holmes came out and they kissed “passionately” (I saw a clip in the ad for the episode)? Just curious what others thought of the show, and of the lovely couple- 27-year-old virgin and the divorcé with no natural children- in general.
It does appear fairly fake to me. I’m seeing Holmes’ pictures everywhere these days. Perhaps I am too cynical but this has marketing ploy written all over it.
I wonder if Katie is getting paid as much as Nicole and Penelope?

Oh, I think his affection for her is genuine. But considering he’s a 42 year old man and this would be his third trip down the aisle, I take his proclamations of being soooo in love as seriously as I take J.Lo’s. FTR, I think her feelings are genuine at the time that she proclaims them. It’s just that after 15 proclamations, you tend to look a little foolish. Cruise is starting to look a little foolish.
They reportedly met in April and that’s just too soon to know whether the relationship will last past the point of Amour Fou. You’d think he’d have that figured out by now and would try to maintain his dignity, if not his privacy.

I’m ashamed to be asking such a pathetic personal-lives-of-celebrities question, but I simply must know: what’s with the “27-year-old virgin” comments? Has Katie Holmes actually claimed somewhere that this is true? I mean, she doesn’t exactly have a squeaky-clean, Hilary Duff-like image (as anyone who has seen “The Gift” can attest :eek: ).
I have seen comments by her claiming that she is saving herself for marriage.

I’m sorry, but I’m not sorry. I can’t believe that Tom cruise is a “normal” straight guy. Every photo I’ve seen of Tom & Katie together looks like they’re not really in love, there’s no chemistry and furthermore they’re both shitty actors. Penelope, yes, it looked like there was some chemistry going. Not this time around.
I really wish that Tom & Keanu could just openly date other men, but our society being what it is I understand their feeling that they have to hide their sexuality.

Mimi Rogers made an odd comment about Cruise after they divorced: she said that he originally aspired to be a monk (which is true- he’s discussed it) and that she honestly felt he’d have been a much happier and much more successful person if he had. That made me wonder if their marriage was ever consummated.
Nicole was pregnant when their divorce began (she miscarried). There’s major speculation as to whether it was Cruise’s. (One tabloid claimed that she had the remains saved for DNA testing just to prove it, but I seriously doubt that one.)
I wonder if Katie will be joining the Dark Si…er, Scientology?

I think Cruise’s problem is that he is such a media whore and so over-the-top charismatic he seems very Hollywood-fake. I don’t question his sexuality because those claims seemed to start as homophobic attacks on him. I do think that the statement by Mimi Rogers and Cruise’s Scientology membership mean he is definitely a little weird.
