Why can't I enable WYSIWYG editing?

I’ve selected that option but I’m not getting it.

Well I’ll be. Looks like there is a WYSIWYG editor. It works for me. Don’t know why it’s not working for you. Are you using a script blocker?

It doesn’t work on Chrome (or other Webkit/Blink-based browsers), for one thing. I have a script I’m working on that (as a side effect) will give you access with it using a keyboard shortcut, but a lot of the buttons don’t work. Only Bold, Italics, and Underline, basically. Maybe some font stuff? I can’t remember. Links definitely don’t work.

The problem, if you care, is that there were underlying changes in how selecting text works in JavaScript. Firefox keeps the old outdated methods around, but Chrome doesn’t. And it wasn’t until later versions of vBulletin that they redesigned the WYSIWYG editor to work with the newer code.

It also never worked in older versions of Internet Explorer. But I doubt that is your problem. Edge is trying to mimic Chrome’s compatibility, so that browser may also not work. I’ve never tried it.

I do think the most recent version of Internet Explorer works. And I know Firefox works.
