Well, at the very least, fat people eating doesn’t have any effect on me. Second hand smoke may not kill me, but I find the smell of nicotine/smoke to be fairly repellant.
Yeah, but what about the smacking and slurping and gnawing sounds, and the belching and farting?

Please. I am a smoker and I fully acknowledge that it’s an unhealthy habit. Let’s not kid ourselves. There are very few of us who are waiting to hear one day that smoking is actually not bad for you. Maybe how bad it is for you could be up for debate.
I agree that the Dope in general is harsher on smokers than it is on people with weight problems. The reality is, though, that all other things being equal, a slender girl who’s smoking at a bar will probably get more positive attention than a chubby girl who isn’t. In my general experience, anyway. YMMV.

Of course, you and WhyNot are right. I think I got some stupid on me after reading his post. I wasn’t being articulate enough.
I was mostly riled by his statement of comparing smoking to being fat. I’ll freely admit that most obesity is due to lazyness and over-eating, but smoking is a choice that no one ever has to make.
I would also argue, that when it comes to smoking, it’s the habit I find disgusting, not the person. But since being fat changes the appearance of the person, you can’t argue that eating is disgusting and not the person. He saying fat people look disgusting, and should be taxed for it. Then arguing the exact same rules apply to smoking. I call bullshit.
Also, there are degrees of obesity. I’m simply 15 lbs overweight. Do I get taxed? Am I disgusting? If so, fuck that guy. What do I do, get on a scale before I order a Whopper?
When you’re a smoker, there’s not as much subjectivity there. Either you’re a smoker, or you’re not (granted, some people can smoke every so often, but still, most smokers make a real habit out of it).
So what I was getting at before, was besides all this, there are some issues that prevent people from losing weight. Especially for the morbidly obese. I think even if I tried to gain 150-200 more lbs, I couldn’t. My WAG is there’s something else at work there. (but I could be wrong)
