Why didn't you vote? For those who did not.

I’ve never voted. Consider that weird. But until they put up someone who has a full time sign language interpreter that you can see on the tv screen, I’m not interested. Same for the local city races. Although I did voluntarily assist those people I thought had a nice platform.

Thought it would be too much trouble to arrange for an overseas absentee ballot, so I didn’t bother. Now I could kick myself, especially seeing how close the election is, but it’s too late :frowning:

I was sure I’d be in Ohio by election time, so I didn’t register in N.C., then when I got to Ohio, I scheduled my trip to register to coinside with the day my movers showed up, since I was taking that day off work anyway and it’d be a quick side-trip. It was also 2 days after the end of voter registration.

D’oh!

These are fairly easy to get; you must know your deadlines.
In the case of Florida, absentee ballots may make a real difference in the outcome in some areas.

I forgot to update my registration, as we moved since the last election.

Oh well, this way I can at least say honestly that no matter who gets elected, I didn’t vote for them!!

What???Hun???What are you talking about?

Until they put a sign language interpreter on the screen, who’s running the government doesn’t effect you?
Until the put a sign language interpereter on the screen, you have no possible way of knowing who you should vote for?
(I think the print media provides a better view of the candidates than tv soundbites.)

Don’t tell me you’re not voting out of resentment.

Vote Nader! Or at least vote!

I didn’t vote because I am still too young, unfortunately.

Well, you can vote vicariously through me hypergirl. I am going after work and could care less who I cast my vote for. Just tell me your prefs and I’ll pull the lever for ya.

Unfortunately, I missed the registration deadline. FUCK!

betenoir, I can’t hear the candidates quibble & lie & stuff because Im deaf. That’s what the terp is for. Imagine if you could never hear a word they said, would you vote for them? You’d probably vote for BUSH “Read my lips! No new taxes”

My big brother just voted, but just for Gore, nothing else.

I made him go or he wouldn’t have done that much. Sigh…kids today!

handy, don’t you have closed captioning?

I missed the registration deadline as well, because I am lazy.

I am happy though, does that balance it out?

Vote Gore, PLEASE.

Wow, in the day and age of close captioned television, Internet access (where I’ll bet a 5 minute search would yeild transcripts of all of the debates), and on-line chat (so you can discuss your views with others), this has to be the worst cop out I’ve ever heard. handy, I take issue with a lot of what you say- nothing Pit-worthy, but this takes the cake. If it’s apathy, fine. I just find it sad to blame a disability for not voting.

Unbelievable.

Zette

Just so you know, it took me 45 seconds to find this site with all of the debates in several languages.

Um… DUH
The point being made was that you can read can’t you? Even if you can’t hear?

My absentee ballot never arrived. At least Gore was able to take Michigan without me…

I didn’t vote, because I didn’t get home from the office until around 1 yesterday morning. The polls were open today from 6am-7pm. My official office hours are from 9:30-6, and it’s an hours commute each day. So, because I didn’t get home till late, I overslept.

I didn’t get up in time to feed my grandmother, vote and go to work. Fortunatly I was going to vote for Gore, Gore won my state so it’s all good. I just hope he wins the country

Hmm with 47 states in Bush is ahead with 246 and 29 states to Gore’s 242 and 18 states

The following states are not counted yet

Florida (25)
Iowa (7)
Oregon (7)
and Wisconsin (11)

Gore has to get Florida and at least either Iowa or Oregon to win
