Maybe he’s just not that into you?
The reason this meme became an instant cliche is because it’s so true. The reason he prefers this sexless woman to you is irrelevant. It doesn’t matter why he does, what matters is that he does. And so the only choice for you is to wave bye-bye, and slam the door in his face when he shows up for a 2 AM booty call.
I would say it’s because there are competing interests at stake. Is the potential wife in basic agreement about children – how many, what religion (if any) they should be raised in, what kind of school to send them to, etc.? Will the potential wife make a good mother? Is she reasonably sane? Does she cook well? Is she a reasonably decent person who puts value in honoring her commitments?
And of course 95% of men have to compromise in finding a wife. They are simply not tall enough, rich enough, handsome enough, or high enough in status to find a marriage partner who satisfies all their criteria of what would make an ideal wife. If you have to compromise, and if other issues are important to you, then you will surely end up with a wife who is not ideal in bed.
I’m not an expert on the subject, but I would guess that if anything, Americans put too much emphasis on sex in choosing spouses and not enough emphasis on other qualities.
