This. I think she’s just getting Gwennie’s sloppy seconds hate.
She had a lot of lines, search for Selina. She and Batman/Bruce had a lot of conflict, both physical and verbal. IIRC she helped motivate him to get back on the job. By the end of the movie they were coordinating and working together.
I think the reason people don’t like her is she comes off as a bit too smug. I like her though.
She’s a 6 at best but for some reason keeps getting roles that should go to an 8-9.
Chris Brown is way worse, though. That anyone give that piece of shit and his work attention infuriates me.
More hated than the man who “inspired” the novelty song Chris Brown Should Get His Ass Kicked?! ![]()

It’s true. The number one reason to hate Anne Hathaway is that she calls herself Anne Hathaway.
Is that not her original name?
It is her birth name.
She’s not a classic beauty as far as I can see. Nor does she play the regular gal role that well. But she was very good in “Get Smart” and “The Devil Wears Prada.” Yes, her somewhat cerebral but otherwise plain aura doesn’t impress many.
I meant the hatred, not the cutie pie.
I spent the past three weeks thinking “How could handsomeharry not have noticed until Les Miserables that Anne Hathaway was a cutie pie!?!?!?!?!?” Thanks for clearing that up, handsomeharry. I feel a bit more comfortable living in this world now.
I wish I could remember where I read things, but at the height of JLaw’s adoration, probably when she won the Oscar for Silver Linings Playbook, someone said, “we all felt this way about Anne Hathaway at one point, too.” Which I didn’t fully understand because I didn’t realize “we” had turned on Hathaway. I still like her. And I also felt like Lawrence was in a different category. Unhateable. But I think you’re right. Lawrence’s aww shucks appeal may be wearing thin.
Oddly enough, this is basically the argument that a female friend of mine uses for disliking Hathaway. Anne’s pretty enough, but everyone keeps making her out to be this great beauty, both in and out of her movies.
To me, she’s just generic Hollywood attractive, but I don’t really care about her one way or the other.
