It seems like every time I log onto Facebook another one of my FB friends has liked Samsung Mobile USA. For a while, I was wondering if maybe you have to like them on FB to activate something on the Galaxy phones, but looking at their page, every post they have, has tens of thousands of likes as well. There’s got to be something more to it.
For comparison, Samsung Mobile has almost 23 million likes, Verizon has about 5 million, Sprint has about 1.2 million and AT&T has about 4 million.
Am I missing something? Is there some reason I’m not aware of for everyone liking Samsung Mobile?
Oh and Motorola (since Samsung is hardware, now that I think about it) has 1.2 million likes.
Just speaking for our household, Samsung produces the best equivalents to the ‘i’ products being put out by Apple across every class of item. We have an Apple-free household for various reasons.
This is our way of staying current with product offerings.
Lots of times pages (companies) will have a contest that you can only win by liking the page (company). I’ve got a few companies that I follow because I wanted free stuff from them. My grocery store, the Baseball Hall of Fame, some small dog toy company.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Samsung gave away something once or twice and got a ton of fans. Plus, they put out a lot of popular phones so people might actually really like their page without prodding.
I think I “liked” Samsung Mobile when I took advantage of their offer for free flip covers for the Note II phone.
But I never “unliked” them because Samsung makes many great mobile products. I never considered myself a loyal Samsung customer; I consider all brands when making every purchase. But I’ve ended up with a Samsung phone (Note II), Samsung 7" tablet (Tab 7.7), Samsung 10" tablet (Google Nexus 10 which is manufactured by Samsung), and a Samsung convertible tablet PC at work (ATIV Smart PC Pro).
I think Samsung is just more active on FB than the others. I’m betting they’ve taken advantage of the newer “pay to promote” feature, so their posts are filtered into more feeds. Also, they reply to comments on their page and seem to be deleting spam while the others don’t seem to be paying any attention after they post something.
I liked them once, as did my wife. I can tell you exactly how it happened, too.
They buy a LOT of sponsored/targeted ad posts on Facebook, and if you’re scrolling through your newsfeed on an iPhone, it’s really easy to accidentally hit the huge “like” button and not really notice that you did it.
I also saw that my wife once liked “Urology Associates of Indiana” or something similar. She got a good laugh out of that one. We’ve gone back and “unliked” a few of these things lately, and Samsung Mobile was definitely one of them. Funny that it’s so easy to accidentally like a Samsung post on an iOS device!
