I really can’t believe how many people have background and text that is the same color. How do they read it? What are then thinking when they put it up there? The mind boggles.

People simply make bad decisions or have horrible taste. Seems tastless people or idiots are a good majority in our society.
The one constant over the life of the world wide web is that most people have no idea what looks good. Ten years ago it was Geocities, and now it’s Myspace. Ten years from now, there’ll be another outlet for people to unleash their eyesores upon us.
It’s also worth noting that most personal sites off the main venue are also terrible, but they tend not to be as clustered, so you’re less likely to notice the trends.
Myspace gives users the tools to do almost whatever they want to do on their pages, quickly and easily. Sadly, developing good taste is neither quick, nor easy.
