Why do you folks lie and say you will not see Star Wars Ep2?

      • I haven’t seen PM either. When it was still in theatres I heard that the story was lousy, and special effects and fight-scene choreography just don’t impress me that much any more.
  • If you weren’t around to see it originally, you should try to understand that the special effects in Star Wars were unprecedented in quality, but now they’re just run-of-the-computer-generated-mill. The second and third movies were carried in no small part on the reputation of the first movie.

  • Movie sequels tend to suck. The farther along in sequels it is, the more it sucks, as writers grasp for new and interesting ideas. - DougC

Well, it still has a chance to redeem itself, but until and unless I see any indication that the trailer was not representative of the movie, I won’t bother. If that’s what I wanted, I would go read some novel with Fabio on the cover, or something. We’ll see. Maybe those were all of the kissy-face scenes in the movie, and they just pulled them all together in one trailer to try to attract a different demographic… But I’ll need to be convinced.

Chronos, there are several trailers available for the movie. Only one of them emphasized the relationship between Anakin and Amidala/Padme’ (which name is she using in this movie, anyway?).

All indicators show that Episode 2 will have lots and lots of action. Jango Fett going one-on-one with Obi-Wan? Fuck-yeah! Starship chases through asteroid fields, WITHOUT the TIE fighters to make it an embarassment? Fuck-yeah!

Despite its huge flaws, I’ve seen Episode I over a dozen times. As time goes by I find it less and less irritating, though I still wish someone had smacked some sense into Lucas. Episode II looks as if it will be infinitely better, but even so I probably won’t try and go the first day… though it should be a lot easier to get in this time, so maybe I will.

  • and man, did I learn my lesson.

Sure, if the reviews are really good, I might give it a chance. But as it looks now, I’d say no - it’ll be part of a video day a year or two in the future.

Around these parts movies are around 3 dollars and matinees are a dollar over in Middlesborough. If a matinee cost 5 dollars you can bet I’d never be goin’ to see a movie at the theater. Oy Vey.

Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope.
. I din’t see EPI in the theatres. I waited untill it came out on video.Of course I also didn’t see Jurassic park or Forrest Gump untill they came out on video as well.
. The 8.50 just isn’t worth it.To go to pay $4 for popcorn that hasn’t been any good since the food police chaced the better(cocanut?) oil out of the theatres? They don’t serve Dr.Pepper, and the Jelly candies are stale.
. The viewing from Lucasfilms has been substandard since The Empire Strikes Back, so just what is the use anyhow?
. S.W. was wonderfull mythology (EPs 4&5) and I think Lucas has been overdoing it since Jedi. Sometimes a good story can go bad by overtelling.
. I have yet to see the last S.T. movie as it suffers from the same fate as S.W.(Voyager & Enterprise are too much)
Please George, Please leave Indy alone!
. Thanks but I will wait untill it comes out on video, unless you’re popping for the trip.
