Come on people. I am not going to name any names here but alot of the Star Wars fanatics posting in the Star Wars threads keep on saying the Ep1 was so bad that they are not going to see Ep2.
Yeah right. I am going to pull these old threads up in May and see who wasn’t going to see it. I’ll bet all of them will be posting comments about Ep2 within days of its release.
I’ll see it. I think the title is painfully retarded, but all previews indicate that it will actually be a good movie (much more action, and they’re actually letting Natalie Portman act this time). So I’ll go see it, but I’ll insist on calling it “Episode II”, just like everyone else.
A friend of my daughter’s said she wouldn’t go see Harry Potter because it would spoil her memory of the book, and that it couldn’t possibly live up to the book. Yeah, right, we thought. Opening night, she was calling us to set up a time when we could all go see it together…
I said that I wouldn’t see it right away (IE: within the first few weeks).
I’ll probably see it after it calms down a bit.
Waiting outside the theater for 3 hours just to get tickets, then going to the theater 3 hours early just to get a seat is something I will never experience again. No movie is THAT good. In fact, most movies aren’t worth the $8.50 they charge. I go to the $5.50 matinees.
I don’t plan on seeing it unless it gets good reviews. I went to the first one despite the bad reviews because I couldn’t help myself but I have learned my lesson. I’ll probably wait for it to come out on dvd.
Oops. Matinee. My bad. The DVD is still a bargain if you plan on watching the movie more than 4 times, though (or if you want to see it with more than 3 friends), and the popcorn is a lot cheaper.
Actually, no, I’m not going to see it. The last one sucked and I have no reason to believe this one will be any different, and there are LOTS of good movies coming out. If there weren’t any other good flicks in the works I might see it, but there are, so I won’t get around to it.
Unless it gets a good review from my trusty reviewers (or I get free tickets like I did for TPM), I’ll probably be waiting until it hits the dollar theater.
I’m a big fan of the first three movies, but Ep1 looked crappy enough in previews that I never went to see it in the theaters. Finally my wife and I rented it on video because we felt like the last people on the planet who hadn’t seen it. Yup, just as crappy as we thought it would be.
(For what it’s worth, I still haven’t seen the last few Star Trek movies for the same reason.)
Maybe a few good reviews will convince me to rent Ep2 … .
I haven’t seen the last Star Wars movie either, despite being a big fan of the first three movies. It was even on TV for free the other night, and I surfed right past it. I just have absolutely no desire to see it.
