So, you’re too stupid to discuss this? Or too afraid? I don’t get it.
But it does seem indicative of the Trump supporter - he’s fragile and can’t tolerate having his ideas questioned. Mainly because, I suspect, he is not actually capable of backing up his beliefs with anything objective.
Man, Stephen Colbert was truly genius when he coined the word “truthiness”. Some people can’t justify the way they act or think, but they sure as hell know it’s right. And you just have to accept it; asking “why” is an insult to them and their identity. It’s demoralizing…it’s reflective of elitism…it’s mean!
The biggest mistake a person trying to understand Trump supporters can make is thinking that Trump supporters can explain themselves in a way that you or I would recognize as reasonable.
Perhaps your opinion of reasonable is the problem. The lack of empathy is a symptom of sociopathy. I clearly and concisely answered the question at hand with details of my experience during the campaign.
I’m not offended by the response, I’m disappointed. My only question for you is “are you tired of losing yet?”
Trump supporters are accepting of anyone that wants to see America remain exceptional. We believe Trump is already accomplishing that.
You’ve made it obvious that you didn’t read for comprehension, that you have trouble with understanding words and using them in the real world, for example “bullying”, and that you have no intention of discussing your positions. This will go well.
That’s the best thing about hypocrisy: once you accept it in yourself, you can still condemn it in others.
Thanks to **Ruined **for honestly and clearly answering the OP, at great personal peril. I’m tempted to add my own answers, but won’t for the simple reason that I would be instantly bombarded by dozens and dozens of people who disagree with me, and will demand that I address their counterarguments. And when I won’t have time (being only one person against many), they will simply deride me with personal insults and then go back to their echo chamber. So ultimately, it is a hollow effort that I decline to waste time on. But bravo to you, Ruined. I enjoyed your post.
I asked you specific questions and you refused to discuss them. You went straight to “oh noes. She told me not to use the word “fag”. She is mean bullying person. How dare she say president is mean bullying person. I will not talk with this person.”
I would like to discuss ACA - what do you want to change and why?
Immigration reform - how have immigrants ruined the country? What do we need to take back?
Deep State and Trolling - Who or what is trying to cripple the country from the inside? Why do you believe this? Why is Trump’s behavior acceptable? You’re the one that said Trump was trolling. Why is it offensive that I repeated that back to you?
So here’s a man who refuses to pay taxes, makes fun of the government and people who collect or pay them, insults all the resources given to him (DoJ, EPA, etc) instead of working with them and using their abilities, thinks climate change is a hoax, wants a tariff war which will clearly cripple American business, signs laws to favor christians…
Trump is the definition of a person who wants to destroy America from the inside. I’ve known this since I was 15 in the '80s. That was just from watching a dumb, rich kid who sets up big real-estate deals only to claim a bankruptcy and force the investors to take a loss through a childish stump fund.
So, you stopped forming opinions once the campaign was over? As soon as the president was elected, you stopped using whatever critical analysis you had applied?
And yet you are either incapable or obstinately refusing to explain reasons why he is accomplishing it (your anecdotes were why you voted for him; you haven’t touched on what he has actually done).
Do you guys really not understand what this sort of comment means?
You just admitted that your arguments are easily disproven and won’t hold up to scrutiny. You just admitted there will be a ton of flaws in your argument–so many that multiple people will be able to bring up different ones, and there will be too many for you to address.
You also indicate that you have not actually dealt with any of those flaws on your own. If you know they are there and have a counter, then you could include that in in your initial statement.
So you have an argument with flaws that you cannot get around. So you’re saying you don’t actually have any good reasons.
Perhaps the reason that Trump supporters are so wary of having to “address counterarguments” is because their attitudes and beliefs are not supportable.
Seriously, I am related to Trump supporters. All of them - even the ones with good jobs, who are nice and try to do the right thing - are ignorant, don’t read, and consider a discussion about their beliefs to be an attack on their identity. Uncles, aunts, cousins - all a bunch of people who never learned the skills of critical thinking, and who therefore get offended by people who think critically. All they know is what some guy in a position of authority told them.
This is a post I am happy to respond to. The other one assumed answers before they were given which was ultimately my issue. I just enjoy pointing out hypocrisy as well.
I was not happy about the repeal and replace situation. However I understand that Trump was told or at least assumed the GOP had a replacement program already in mind. They didn’t and unfortunately the entire thing died. I agree with the assertion that with the removal of the individual mandate we are at possibly the worst version of health insurance possible. My biggest fear is going to socialized healthcare in an attempt to remedy the situation. I understand a lot of the complaints regarding going back to the original system as well. I would personally like to see a free market system for insurance. I believe based on what I have read and heard that it would ultimately be the most beneficial. It would reign in costs and allow for competition between insurance markets. I voted for Trump because he wanted to repeal the bastard version of the ACA that ended up being passed. I would not be the expert on the subject but he got put into position to find those experts.
ILLEGAL immigration has resulted in billions of dollars a year of our tax moneys being used to provide for these people, on top of billions being sent outside the country.
Immigrating illegally has countless dangers associated with it, especially for women, and with our extremely loose enforcement of it, we are effectively encouraging these risks.
The amount of illegals living in absolute horrible conditions along the border should not be praised it should be fixed, and I believe stricter enforcement would help.
Many times when illegals commit crime it is very hard to locate and/or prosecute because they have no real identification or history. They many times then go to our prisons and jails where we must provide for them. This is on top of the fact that they commit the majority of identity fraud, and while like i mentioned previously-the majority being good people, even one illegal being a violent criminal is too much.
Deep state. You condescendingly assumed i was talking about some secret faceless group.
I am referring to first and foremost globalists. Second is corruption in DC. Representatives that are coming out of office much wealthier than when they went in. You dont make millions by living a fiscal lifestyle on 150k a year.
I am talking about RINOs that do not represent their constituents. The DNC that is more interested in grandstanding and going against Trump than doing their jobs.
The media offenders that are laughing at journalistic integrity. Their job is to find and verify the truth. Not create it when business is slow or things are going well. Report on the good things if there is nothing bad this week.
Does this sufficiently explain my position on these things?
Incorrect. He is not trying to discuss something with a mob. Seriously look at the responses since i posted. ONE, i repeat, ONE person has at least attempted to add to the conversation. ONE. The rest have just attacked, hurled insults, and instead of addressing a point made, have done exactly this by painting a post as insubstantial.
What you have just done is the incredible mental gymnastics needed to arrive at a cohesive point that gets made fun of all the time.
The IRS came out as corrupt under Obama.
The FBI came out as corrupt under Obama.
The DoJ came out as corrupt under Obama.
Syria and ISIS have thrived under Obama.
Global Warming all of a sudden became climate change because it was a hoax. No one doubts that the climate changes, they disagree about the effects humanity has.
The trade restrictions that have brought North Korea to the table. The restrictions that have gotten bad trade deals with china renegotiated.
He is close to disbanding the EPA because they are a joke.
He has nonstop been exposing corruption and crime within our country.
Seems to me he is the absolute worst russian agent trying to destroy America. He keeps making it better…oops!
