that was hard to type
ALL? Only one, AFAIK- but since she is the main reason why I watch the show…
What Cliffy said. I started watching because it’s “Trek,” and I continue to watch because, optimistic fool that I am, I figure it has to stop sucking some time. Of course, I gave up on “Voyager” much earlier than this, and I’m starting to wonder why I’m still watching “Enterprise.”
I’m going to be seriously pissed when the shoe finally drops on “Firefly.”
Started because it was Trek, but honestly if it weren’t for Hoshi and The weekly Enterprise thread here i probably wouldn’t be setting my VCR before i go to class Wed nights.
YOU HEAR THAT BERMAN, YOU WEASEL? I WANT A KICKBACK!
(email me off list for the address to send the check.)
Well, Seven of Nine was like that too.
It’s just so Baywatch-blatant, and as I don’t fit their main demographic (I like tough chicks, not supermodel chicks) it just irritates me.
I don’t read or watch science fiction to be sexually intertained, but I’d never admit it here…
Dammit.
Watched it initially because it was Trek. But I’m a self-hating trekkie. When I watch nerds being asked ST trivia questions, 90% of the time I know the answers, but I keep that to myself! I can’t help having a good memory and knowing a thing or two about science, but I never hesitate to fall back into Shatner on SNL mode…
So I keep watching (so far anyway) because its a decent show. I also still love the whole pre-‘original series’ thing.
But quality counts more than Trek-ness. I still watch TNG and DS9 reruns, but Voyager? I never rooted so hard for the Borg…
I enjoyed Voyager. There was the Warp 10 Lizards episode, but there was also Spock’s Brain, Wesley Crusher, and Gul Dukat in human drag. ^:)^
Ooooh, yeah…the warp 10 Lizards. That was a cool show. Most of V-ger sucked.
Rick Berman’s Address:
Lord High God Of All Star Trek Stuff Since The Real Guy Already Died
Is that what you meant?
I think I’ll not step on anybody’s thread.
That was one of the reasons DS:9 rocked the house was that the female characters were pretty strong and resourceful and the actresses were really good. No pointless eye candy for the hard up nerds.
I miss DS:9. Hurry up with those damn DVD’s.
elf-Do you think they killed Sisko off and dispersed all the characters to prevent DS9 movies, or will his return make a great first DS9 flick?
I’m gonna have to say I agree with a lot of people in this thread in that I watch ENT just 'cuz it is Trek. However, I also agree that season 2 has been sucking extremely hard; harder than {insert shameless innuendo}.
Prior to season 2’s crapathon of episodes, I couldn’t wait to watch ENT on Wednesday nights. Now I don’t mind waiting 'til the Sunday night re-run.
I was kind of pissed when they killed off Jadzia…
Terry Farrell (sp?) quit and they had to write her out.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but:
-
I like all things Trek.
-
Scott Bakula.

Connor Trinneer

What I like about the series:[ul][li]The opening credits – the song :o and the montage from sailing ship to starship.[/li][li]Humans are still learning about space – the crew (and Archer) were very much more naive than they are now (and I think that’s a deliberate choice of the writers, not just bad acting)[/li][li]It’s cool to see the primitive high-tech stuff – well, you know what I mean – and see how later things evolved.[/li][li]that actions have consequences – you can’t just kill the bad guy, kiss the princess and leave (or, as in TOS, destroy the foundation of entire civilizations and then leave…). [/ul] [/li]
What I dislike about the series:[ul][li]some of the crappy writing (especially in the last few episodes) hasn’t lived up to the concept/idea behind the episode.[/li][li]On a meta-level, I dislike the whining on various “trek boards” about how non-canon it is and how they get things wrong because it doesn’t match some off-hand comment in some episode of the fourth season of ST:TNG[/li][li]on a meta-level, I’m amazed at the actual hatred expressed for Berman and Braga [/li][/ul]
So all in all, I like the show, but I’m finding the quality of the episodes a bit sporadic.
On the other hand, if you go back and watch The Original Series, that had a fairly high coefficient of crap too!
I saw an episode this week. The moral appeared to be if you slap women around, they’ll have sex with you.
I don’t like the show at all
