I personally am in awe of Kanye’s IRL trolling abilities. Man’s a genius! He elevates doing it for the lulz to a new level.

Well, I like both the video and the song. It’s, IMO, much much better than the fluffy garbage that comes from Taylor Swift.
But it’s all subjective. And thinking Kanye West was right about the music doesn’t mean I don’t also think he was a giant asshole and that it was a terrible thing to do to the poor girl.

I just saw the rerun. Beyonce just sat there looking like “OMG he did not just do that.” Taylor Swift was just standing there looking like she was trying not to cry.

Yeah, I don’t think it was staged. Kanye’s just an egomaniac who can’t handle a minute where everyone’s attention isn’t on him. Beyonce was indeed a class act. And his “apology” would be more convincing if he didn’t sound like an 11-year old girl doing it. :rolleyes:

If not full-on staged, probably at least encouraged at some level to drum up interest for the vee-huh-whats.
If SNL had the gumption, it could put together a skit featuring Obama on Kanye West: “I don’t know, not having seen the video, what role race played, but I’m friends with Beyonce and the MTV judges acted stupidly in not giving the award to her.” And on Serena: “I don’t know, not having watched the US Open, what role race played in that, but I’m friends with Serena and the line judge acted stupidly in calling a foot fault against her.”
