Why does Kanye West continue to try and test the boundaries of assholish behavior? [VMA Spoiler]

So in case anybody hasn’t heard, Kanye West made a douche of himself, again, this time at the 2009 VMA Ceremony.

Long story short, (spoiler) Taylor Swift wins Best Female Artist Video or whatever, she’s standing on the stage to give her acceptance speech. She’s all happy, “I couldn’t believe this could happen to me” blah blah…then Kanye West hops on stage, steals the mic, and proceeds to tell her “I’m happy for you and all, I’m gonna let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time! Of all time!” and hands her the mic back. She looks shaken and like she’s about to cry, doesn’t know what to say, just waves goodbye to the crowd.

THEN SHE HAS TO TURN AROUND AND PERFORM.

Beyonce is like WTF :confused:. She doesn’t seem too pleased that Kanye did that. What is wrong with him? I like his music, but that was a pretty fucked up thing to do.

Kayne West doesn’t seem to understand that, unless you’re 14, anything MTV does is meaningless.

Even though Kanye was right, that behavior was totally inexcusable and an obvious publicity grab on his part. I felt just terrible for the poor girl, as much as I dislike that song.

Single Ladies is one of the best videos of all time? From what I’ve seen, vying for the best out of all these videos is like a bunch of body builders hopped up on steroids having a dick measuring contest.

He was right so far as he was implying that Taylor Swift shouldn’t have won over that video (song). I don’t know that I would go so far as too call it the best or one of the best.

I wouldn’t even call it one of the listenable. I find it unpleasant to listen to and it’s really repetative. The video itself is nothing but three girls dancing (to steal a line from seinfeld) like a full body dry heave set to music. Genius it isn’t.

I hate Kanye West and I think MTV is a joke thereby making their awards a joke, but it’s still a shitty thing to do to a perfectly nice 19 year old.
