Why don't I dream about sex every night?

I’ve always heard that men think about sex every 11 minutes or so. I know that has always been accurate for me.
Then why don’t I have sexually explicit dream every single night? If my brain is always thinking about sex, why aren’t I having 50 wet dreams a night? Am I being robbed by my own brain?

We don’t remember all of our dreams, only the last few minutes of them. ALSO, in the real world we have visual cues to start up our sex drive (shampoo commercials and the like); not so in dreams. ALSO, thinking about sex doesn’t necessarily mean having a full-blown sexual fantasy, and I would think this goes for dreams as well.

I guess that’s it.

For that matter…why do I always wake up at just the WRONG time?

And frankly, I wonder exactly what the hell they mean.
Is this some sort of average time spent thinking about sex? (11 percent of the time?) Suppose I have some extended daydream, fantasy, etc. How many times did I think about sex while doing so? One?

Not trolling here–just genuinely curious about what they mean.

You mean there are times when you guys are NOT thinking about sex? It seems other guys also think about sports but I never followed sports so I guess that may explain why 100% of me is dedicated to the thought of sex 100% of the time.

you mean there’s such a thing as not dreaming of sex?

tell you what kid, i’ll trade you some of that, my libido seems to get me in trouble some times.

I’ve never failed to wake up at the wrong time! Maybe it’s a subconscious reaction to not wanting to mess up my bed?

‘Sex’? How was that defined? I have to think about food, word, schedule, social life, etc, who has time to think about sex anymore? More fun to do it…

BTW, sleep is the unconscious expressing itself, & the unconscious by definition is not directly accessible consciously. whew.

i never did beleive that one, i mean how can you guage it? if you put a guy in a room, and say “every time you think about sex i want you to press this button.” he would think about it alot more then he usualy does, because of the stiuation he is in. he would be thinking: ‘hmm, am i thinking about sex? oh wait, i am now.’ {press}

eggo

I haven’t seen an answer (or even a guess) to my query above, but I’ll point out an obvious mistake I made–of course the “sexual thinking” wouldn’t be 11% of the time, but closer to 9%. (1/11 of 100%).

Oops.

But then, I’ve always found that sex and mathematics, if not mutually exclusive, don’t exactly go together like peanut butter and jelly.

Because you lack dedication and committment. Or are no longer fifteen.

I heard that if you eat a banana before going to bed you’ll have sexy dreams. I don’t know if it’s true or not but I guess it’s worth a shot.
