Yet when you are just dead and can’t tell us anything do you want us to remember you as judgemental?
yes, tell us whatever you want, but remember that if somebody doesn’t beleive in your god, then what they are choosing is not wrong. If there is a god, I do not beleive he would send somebody like you, someone so judgemental, someone who sounds so self-involved.
Based on your posts in this thread, I do not beleive that you care wether or not any of us go to hell, only yourself. You seem to only the credit for being the one to tell us what is right and wrong.
If there is a god, they and only they can tell me what is right and wrong. You are not that deity. You are a person and as a person, you have no more authority than I do to decide what is morally right and wrong.

Can I please implore people who don’t believe to not think all Christians are like this? I understand being frustrated. I understand wanting to lash back out at people but when you insult the beliefs of those of us who are sincere, those of us who are trying to live the Golden Rule, those of us who don’t treat our religion and faith as a way to elevate ourselves to some higher plane and look down on everyone else it is just as hateful and harmful.
QUOTE]
As I said to Vanilla, it is people like her that make people turn away from the church, and to look down on religion in general. It is people like you who cause people who had no faith to join a church, or even just be a nicer person.
What are you talking about? If everything is forgiven, nothing is wrong. Nothing is bad. There is no judgement. Maybe it’s OK for YOU to do things that you consider wrong (even MURDER), but the rest of us operate with our own conscience, which doesn’t let us off the hook for hideous infractions.
I, like others, am seriously questioning your mental faculties right now.
And it is for God to judge vanilla, not you.
You seem to be forgetting that you are a weak imperfect sinner.
I’ve never had an abortion.
Does that give me the right to look down on you and condemn you?
I’ve been married to the same man for over 20 years now.
You are not married at this timeand yet you have a child.
Does that make me better than you?
You seem to be forgetting the following and that can be dangerous for any Christian:
And as important:
**Vanilla[/b, your fundie porn daydreams that “yeah, someday Jesus will come back and THEN they’ll be sorry” are really unconvincing to anyone with two neurons to rub together. Every other religion has the same eschatological fantasies of judgment when the sinners will be punuahed and the righteous exalted–I don’t believe the Muslims either when they talk about the Day of Judgement, and their book is newer than yours.
What’s sad is that this new crowd has so thoroughly brainwashed you, just like when you were soooo convinced that the Mormons were following the True Path.
What I find so baffling about fundies like you is your solid confidence that you, and only you, have the inside skinny on the true interpretation of the Bible, yet you ignore virtually everything Jesus ever said or did, instead you slavishly follow weird, cultish beliefs derived from 19th-century British wackos that have no Biblical justification.
Maybe I missed something, but a link to Cybill Shepherd’s actual remarks at the pro-abortion rights rally would be nice, so we could decide if she actually was calling opponents “idiots” (as vanilla has been doing, with apparently no sense of irony).
Would vanilla include Randall Terry as an “idiot who needs to calm down”?
“The March for Women’s Lives is a ‘Death March,’” said Operation Rescue Founder, Randall Terry, “and we will be there to confront them with the truth.”…
To the entertainment ‘celebrities’ who have voiced support for this Death March, Operation Witness says:
“You support the brutal murder of innocent children and exploitation of women.”
I’m still waiting for an answer to my question about why Christians have cornered the market on morals.
Add to this another question – where in the Bible does it say that abortion is a sin?
You say this like turning away from the church is a bad thing? Since JC died more have died "unsaved; then “saved”. If he is that fussy I don’t want a bar of him.
Of course I’m just teasing. I’m all athiest so I’m sure he isn’t about to “save” me.
Hey I can remember when she was really convinced that David I’m fucking mad I am Icke had serious points to make about 9/11
And better yet, why is it OK for Vanilla, but not for everyone else? After all, we only need to say “Oops! Sorry!” and everything’s Jake. Just like she did.
Does Rue know you say things are jake in such serious places?
Does Rue have a “ruel” on inserting lighthearted words in such serious places?
Anyhow, how serious can it be if it’s so easily forgiven?
hehe…I’m actually agnostic, so I’m a member of no church. Just making a point to Vanilla about her poor tactics at trying to “save” people. A point that I’m sure you got, but she did not
I’m sure he would be proud.
And I’m going to heaven just for that
God save me from those who want to save me
Sometimes I wish the Bible really were true. Well at least the part about the rapture taking people like vanilla away and leaving all of us godless types behind. In my part of the country the traffic would get a lot better too. Housing prices would fall though, slackening demand don’t ya know.
Back to our regularly scheduled rant:
Vanilla, you still haven’t explained how abortion is a bad thing, yet it is a pardonable offense. Is it wrong or isn’t it? If it’s wrong, how are you going to get on the “up” esacalator, so to speak?
And, by the way…the “Junior Mod for God” thing is obnoxious. If he’s around, I’m sure he can do his own chastising without help from a big sinner like you.
She also hasn’t explained her sudden change of heart, or mind, or whatever. I always thought she was one of the more reasonable, open-minded religious people on the Board; all of a sudden she’s The Church Lady. Has she been lying to us for the past couple of years, humoring us; yanking our chains?
Or loss thereof. Many of us are slamming her, but deep down I’m worried. People usually don’t do turnabouts like that unless there is a very real problem.
Vanilla, if you need to talk, you know we’re all here for you.
