Not a opinion just fact
As a Cowboys fan, I would like to ask people to disregard another Cowboys fan here.
Of course not…
If you recall, the Steelers had the same situation with Noll. They let him retire, and then made him a special assistant to the GM. He was a hell of a talent evaluator. Yes, the game passed him by as well, but you don’t simply fire a legend. Landry was there for what 30 years?
Landry could have moved on… Without the humiliation of a firing.
But it was all paid back. Jones made the brilliant move of hiring Jimmy, and then fired him at the peak of his skills, convinced it wasn’t Jimmy, but Jerry! Who won those 3 Super Bowls.
So Jerry got one ring with a clown who just stood back and let the professionals play, and then the team went south, never to rise again.
You know what?
It doesn’t matter. I see we have a newcomer to our boards and this thread to defend the Cowboys.
No doubt he’s in high school, and he doesn’t sound very highly ed-ju-ma-kated.
So this can go no where.
It should have stayed a zombie… RIP, THREAD.
You know dude, you don’t have to press “Enter” at the end of every sentence. The software will wrap it for you. Otherwise, it looks really retarded.
I believe Landry was in the last year of his contract, and already planned to retire. Jones could’ve let him go gracefully, but instead he decided to dump someone who gave his all to a team, who probably meant more to the franchise than anyone.
BTW, the last time the Cowboys won the Super Bowl was when they beat us in Super Bowl XXX. They haven’t been back since. We’ve been back THREE times, and won twice. 8 AFC championships, and 6 Lombardis. The same family has owned the team since its founding. (BTW, for those not aware, Art Rooney was also one of the original owners of the Pittsburgh Penguins – he used his influence to convince the NHL to award Pittsburgh a franchise back in the 1967 expansion. They were leaning towards Buffalo originally. And speaking of, Pittsburgh is the ONLY city to have won both the Super Bowl and the Stanley Cup in the same year.)
Is Dan Rooney a good enough source?
And besides: We were in The Dark Knight Rises. Beat THAT!
Dude, this SANE Bengals fan is here to tell you that this mindset of yours is SO not happening.
Because I’m an NFL fan in general, and a Packers fan in particular, and I find it irritating when coverage of the Cowboys (by Fox, ESPN, NFL Network, SI, etc.) outstrips that of the 31 other teams, especially when the Cowboys aren’t nearly good enough to warrant that level of coverage.
And haven’t been since the mid-1990’s. That is an irritating factor for that team for sure.
Not a hater of anything. But I dislike the Redskins, Eagles, Giants, Steelers. I like The Dallas Cowboys.
Because fuck the Cowboys, that’s why.
FYI Fox, NFL network, BSPN, and others? don’t care who you want to see
on Sunday’s in the fall, it’s called ratings, and Dallas brings that in, doesn’t
matter their record.
breaking it down
the difference between a Dallas fan and a fan of another team? is
Dallas fans don’t give a **** about you, many after the game is
over (Dallas) turns off the TV win/lose/tie and does whatever they
have to
You on the other hand can’t wait to get on boards, facebook and
other social media and hoop it up over the loss, running your little
melee mouths
yet when Dallas wins crickets the light got turned on and
the roaches scattered…pretty simple dude
yes they should ignore you a fan with his/her head in the sand unwilling to
stat the facts and goes along with the crowd. IMO doesn’t deserve to be a
fan of Dallas
Says the guy who has spent hours of his time writing childish, nigh but illiterate posts on a message board after finding a thread that was 7 years old.
rotflmao the ramblings and lies of a person who can’t refute the facts so they resort to childish name
calling to try and make themselves popular
You’re drowning dude and I can’t help you
Dallas was ranked middle of the pack in TV ratings in 2013, and had dropped 12% over the prior two years. Last year was slightly better, but they’re still down from 3 years ago. It’s not the Cowboys who bring in ratings, it’s winning. When Dallas isn’t winning or in the playoffs, they’re not a draw at all.
Not that actual facts or intelligent points will matter one whit to your crazy ramblings, but, hey, I’m not actually writing for you.
And yet Dallas is still televised more times nationally then not…should
tell you something, which comes back to my original point…nobody is
bitching and moaning when Dallas is on TV and losing. Yet everyone
bitches when Dallas is on national television and winning
still think I don’t have a strong argument for jealousy???
Uh, isn’t that exactly what kenobi 65 was doing?
I wouldn’t describe it as “bitching and moaning”, but you know what I mean.
Exactly so. When you have a team that is .500, at best (as Dallas was from 2010-2013), which had won a grand total of 2 playoff games between 1996 and 2013, and Sportscenter still was spending a huge amount of time on “What’s Wrong With Tony Romo?”, that’s what I’m talking about.
FYI: I worked in advertising and media for 12 years. I GET that. It doesn’t make it any less irritating.
This, right here, is the correct answer.
