Are there any Cowboys fans on the SDMB?

OK… so my Halloween costume is going to be the Anonymous Cowboy Fan… me in jeans and a Cowboys sweatshirt with a paper bag over my head. They’re 0-3 so far this season, and they’re not expected to do well.

Are there any Cowboys fans here? I need all the support I can get in my lonely section of the bleachers.

Robin

I’ll be right beside ya. No bag for me though, I’ll show my forlorn face.

Hey, look on the bright side, we play the 'Skins next. We could, in theory, win that one…maybe.

Maybe we could pick up Jeff George, there’s no way he could be as bad as the QBs we have right now… :stuck_out_tongue:

I used to follow the Cowboys, years ago. Does Harvy Martin still play for them?

Does it count if I live with two cowboy fans? They are the happy, noisey, rooting for ‘em even when they lose kind of fans. The jersey wearin’, sign in the yard on game day, flag on the truck on the way to the game, turkey is served before leaving for the stadium on thanksgiving day kinda fans.

P.S. Good idea for a costume!

Leave a seat for me on that bleacher. I’ll be suffering through the season with you.

We could still win 4 games this year. We get to play the Cardinals and Redskins twice each.

Oh. That kind of Cowboy.
Nope. Not 'less you find one in tight Wranglers and a Resistol.

Oh, what a long season this will be.

We suck, so no national TV, which means long hours in sports bars being laughed at by Packers and Colts and I don’t even get to hear the sound 'cause there’s only 4 people watching…

We’ve had several coaches now, and Jerry’s fired them all.

Perfect record, right?

Too bad you can’t trade Herschel Walker again. Or get O’Donnell to throw passes for you, since the only players he could hit in the Super Bowl were wearing blue and gray.

Jerry Jones is eating some serious shit now, and I love it!

Now you are at MY mercy, Dallas fans. It’s too bad the Stillers can’t hand you your asses this year. I would so love to see that!

[sub]Robin, that paper bag won’t last too long, if you know what I mean… ;)[/sub]

I spit my water out in disgust when I saw the score from yesterday’s game. 18-40 against Philadelphia. Filthy-f*cking-delphia! It almost makes me want to become a Bengals fan. :frowning:

[sub]Don’t worry, honey, I’ve got plenty of paper bags. I think I’m gonna need 'em this season[/sub]

Robin

Um, just exactly how many unhatched chickens do you have?

You are a brave woman Robin, publicly admitting that the Cowboys have a fan, and it is you.

Are the Cowboys a NCAA Division III team now?
:stuck_out_tongue:

Let’s put it this way. They’d have a hard time with my HS team, and they suck, too.

Robin

JimB is a HUGE Cowboy’s fan. I’ll send him your way, sweetie…you can commiserate together. And trust me, being a Seahawks fan isn’t exactly inspiring pride, this year or ANY year so far.

In fact,

You got enough paper bags to share?

Scotti

This made me laugh. Hard!

Earlier this week I heard my kid and his buddy on the ninth grade football team discussing the game. (They won with a thrilling 45 yard run in the last seven seconds.) In their excitement, one of them exclaimed they could beat the Cowboys. My son (who is a fan) said, “That ain’t sayin much this year.” All the adults standing around congratulating the boys, busted up laughing.

Oops! That would have been lastweek, not this week.

I wear tight Wranglers, Ginger, can I interest you?

And oh, yeah, I’m a Dallas Cowboys fan, too. We aren’t going to win many games but we can still watch Emmitt Smith run.

And someday we’ll have a quarterback again.

And maybe even some receivers.

But for now, we just drink a lot of beer and think about yesterday, and hope for tomorrow.

I still love 'em.
Jim

::runs through this Cowgirl lovefest, knocks over all the beer, spits in the bowl of chips, and sneezes all over everyone present, then plants a big STEELERS banner up on the wall and runs out laughing maniacally.::

Good to see all of you, have me back again!

I am originally from Shreveport, so naturally I am a Cowboys fan. In fact, one of my earliest memories (I must have been about 2-3 years old) was going over to the neighbor’s house to watch the Cowboys on TV with the “big folk.”

I’ve stuck with them through the good, the bad, and the ugly. I’ll always be a Cowboys fan. It’s even more fun now that I live in the DC area! At least I can count on two wins this year. I’m not too worried. They are a young team and will be playoff contenders again in about 3 years.

I’m a Packer fan and even I feel sorry for you guys. Well, just a little.

Sheesh, a typical Steelers fan.
