Skins-Cowboys: I Pray To Thee

The Cowboys have won 14 of the last 15 games in this series. It’s become too much.

I know there is a “Football God” out there somewhere. I’ve done something to offend you, although I don’t know what it is. Whatever it was, I’m sorry.

::gets down on knees::

I promise to be a better fan. I promise to never again use your name in vain. I will worship at the altar of the Gridiron, diligently, from now until the day I die.

Please, please, please, I’m begging you. Allow us to have this win! We’ve suffered enough these last few years. Let it be a hard hitting, injury free game, but let the Redskins win! PLEASE!!!

In your honor, I will sing this song:

*Hail to the Redskins!
Hail Vic-tor-y!
Braves on the Warpath!
Fight for old D.C.!

Run or pass and score — we want a lot more!
Beat 'em, Swamp 'em,
Touchdown! — let the points soar!
Fight on, fight on 'til you have won
Sons of Wash-ing-ton. Rah!, Rah!, Rah!

Hail to the Redskins!
Hail Vic-tor-y!
Braves on the Warpath!
Fight for old D.C.!*

I don’t care who wins in that game, but if New Orleans wins, then I want the total score between Washington and Dallas to be precisely 29; if New Orleans loses, I want the total score to be 36.

I love this time of the year.

I hope it’s a tie, because both teams suck and I don’t want either team to win.

I respectfully disagree, kind sir. I think 15 of 16, then 16 of 17, sounds pretty good for this season. Then repeat ad infinitum for ultimate pleasure.

I really don’t care who wins, I just want Moss to catch a TD or two. I really want to get over 100 points this week.

Actually, seeing Dallas lose is always fun.

My friend Dave is a die-hard Giants fan. He roots, in his own words, " for the earth to open up and swallow both teams, along with 60,000 of their fans."

I’m with you Innuendo Hunter. Sitting here, wearing my Redskins t-shirt (thank Og they’re finally making them in “women’s” cut instead of the big boxy man shirts we were forced to wear in previous years), I pray to the football gods who have not blessed us in many, many seasons.

It’s Monday Night football AND they’re doing some stupid dedication ceremony for Aikman and the rest of the riff raff from the 90’s at halftime. What better time to come in with a Redskins victory? It HAS to happen at some point, right? Right?

In Gibbs We Trust.

It’s the weirdest thing… something that’s just too good to ever hope for and here’s it’s been lovingly placed on our platter the last what… 14 or 15 games? Bwhaaa… we could lose until 2012 and they’d just tie it up.

Lets play Indians & Cowboys & Cowboys & Cowboys & Cowboys & Cowboys & Cowboys & Cowboys & Cowboys & Cowboys & Cowboys & Cowboys & Cowboys & Cowboys & Cowboys.

Wooodogieeeee! Go Cowboys!

I love it when the Cowboys win. It’s especially funny in the Super Bowl when you see Cowher over there on the other side pouting like a little girl with a busted Barbie.

To play it safe, you might want to sing the original version, too:

Hail to the Redskins!
Hail Vic-tor-y!
Braves on the Warpath!
Fight for old Dixie!
Run or pass and score — we want a lot more!
Scalp 'em, swamp 'em — We will take 'em big score
Read 'em, weep 'em, touchdown — we want heap more
Fight on, Fight on — 'til you have won
Sons of Wash-ing-ton. Rah!, Rah!, Rah!
Hail to the Redskins!
Hail Vic-tor-y!
Braves on the Warpath!
Fight for old Dixie!

As a Giants fan, I heartily endorse this post.

I wouldn’t be adverse to the idea Enginerd’s buddy had either.

To the tune of the “Mickey Mouse Club” theme song:

We are rooting for a team
that’s really out of luck,
R-E-D, S-K-I, N-S-U-C-K!
Yes, we know they’re going to lose,
but we don’t give a fuck,
R-E-D, S-K-I, N-S-U-C-K!
Redskins suck, Redskins suck,
the Redskins suck, they suck, they really blow-ho-ho-ho!
Ya bet a dollar on this team,
you’re sure to lose your buck…

etcetera.

Ahem. Cough, cough. La, la, la,…mi, mi, mi.

:sings:

Hell to the Redskins!

Hell no victory!

Hell to the Redskins!

Go back to old D.C.!

innuendo hunter, winnie - my people!

Lifetime 'Skins fan. Very hard being born and living in Texas. BTW, the idea that all Texans love the Cowboys is bullshit. There’s as much hate in state as there is beyond.

So far Brunell looks like a stiff and threw a horrible pick. And shouldn’t the vaunted 'Skins D be crushing Bledsoe by now?

HAIL VICTORY!

Weird. Suddenly I find myself actually caring a little bit about this lame-ass game.

Actually I’m still watching the Saints-Giants, but I’ll probably switch over when it’s done.

I’m so torn. I hate the Cowboys, but the Broncos get the Redskins first round draft pick next draft, so the worse the Redskins do the higher the pick.

I think we need look no further than what you have done to offend the football gods.
Demarcus Ware looks to be the real deal and then some.

And might I just note that the Giants are the only NFC East team sporting a 2-0 record?

For the next 90 minutes or so, anyway…

They’ve faced a really intimidating schedule so far.

Wow.

And lo, a miracle occurs.
