This was done in Cafe Society a few weeks ago. (Not that that’s a bad thing - it’s funny enough to deserve a second round.) I think the conclusion was that people really aren’t that stupid. It’s a joke.

What’s really sad is that the media will have a field day with the title when the movie comes out; lots of interviews with survivors and how they feel about the title, the now-reinforced relevance of LOTR to contemporary society etc. etc.
Worse yet, there will be plenty among the informational underclass who will STILL think the movie is about 9/11.

Seems the guy owned up here (although that in itself could be bull, who knows. )
Frankly if it wasn’t made up I’d have to despair at the state of the world even more than I normally do.

No doubt some will call for the title to be changed, and others will say “Changing titles makes baby terrorists cry, and the Jesus will have won.” Or something like that.
