As many of you may or may not know, I live in Detroit, MI. And we certainly have had protests about police misconduct. But no violence thus far.
What is Detroit’s secret? And what can other cities learn from us?

How to go bankrupt?
Sorry just joking.
Metro Detroit resident here. It could come down to better community relations than some other big-city police departments. A couple months back a Black man was shot to death by police in Detroit, which sparked protesting in the city that was on the verge of breaking out into violence. Chief Craig put together a quick press conference, addressed the situation directly, and showed body cam video that clearly showed the man drew and shot at the police first. It seemed to do a lot to defuse the tension and I thought it was generally handled well.
