This seems to be the board for stupid (mundane, pointless at least) questions, so why did so many people respond by attacking, then replying with non-answers? If you don’t like the question (or the intent of the poster) then don’t reply.
Am I missing something here? Are sex-related or offensive questions prohibited? Why were some of his posts locked down?
Most of the people who respond to Michael are insecure with their own lives.
It also makes me chuckle when I see people swearing at him for posting posts that get more responses than their own.

I don’t think it was the sexual content that was annoying, as much as it was his “I am God’s Gift to this Board” attitude. Most of the posters at SD are intelligent, witty, and sensitive to real issues, and they respond to questions asked as if they were genuine. Some are answered seriously, and some are done with fun and teasing to people have made closer frienships on the board. Michael really didn’t want to have his questions answered as much as he wanted to boast about his prowess. The members pick up quickly on this attitude and respond in their own way. I would not say they are insecure by any means, only less tolerable of people who display attitudes before getting to know the atmosphere of the board. Michael himself even admitted he was trying to be annoying.
I really try to be good but it just isn’t in my nature!

What irritated people (myself included) was this guy’s attitude he conveyed. I can live with someone posting something stupid, but to do so in a manner that says you are God’s gift to everything will earn a higher level of vitriol.
As for hoping people would stop posting to his threads, I was hoping for that simply to let his threads fall off the board and hope he gets tired of it. In retrospect, I prefer hijacking the thread and talking about something else (flowers, movies, etc.)
But hey, I also understand that we have around one of these a month, so it does make for a good chance to work on some new troll-grinding material.

I found it all entertaining. The biggest marvel is how many people really do feed the trolls!! (And yes, I must admit, I did post in one of his threads, and then in one M-related thread in the Pit…)
His threads were redundant and immature. He thought he was being original, but nothing he asked hadn’t been discussed before. (Except for the “how much money do y’all have?” I don’t remember that being discussed; but that’s because generally, most people aren’t so crass.)
Amazing how his threads thrived on the board, though. Maybe he wanted to have as many threads about himself as Michelle had dedicated to her a while back?

Yep, its just like having a case of pms posting with us for a week or so.

Miceal got attention for the same reason that poison ivy rashes get stratched. They ( & he) irritate.
But otherwise, he just didn’t post anything halfway interesting. This is a site for the thinkers, debaters & happy eccentrics; not the disco/pickup bar rejects.
You’ll remember that his first thread, about penis size, got a lot of serious response, until he started butting in in a distinctly NewtonsApple-esque manner. Then, when he posted his claimed size, and then started starting his other threads, it became glaringly apparent that we weren’t dealing with someone who had a question they were serious about getting answered. If he had been a serious poster, he would have acted in a more serious manner. Instead, he became an annoyance.
Heck is where you go when you don’t believe in Gosh.
That’s a bad analogy. Poison ivy, once attained, cannot be avoided while Michael can.

I’ve only been here a few months (so I don’t have a lot of experience with these types of people here), but personally I thought that the OJSimpson fellow was a lot more annoying than this most recent fellow. At least this one tended to keep to his own message threads or in threads about him. OJSimpson posted his annoying drivel all over the place.
Why was I so bugged? For the same reason I get pissed off when I go canoeing and see Bud cans scattered all over the banks of the river.
Posting vacuous questions does not make one a valued poster.
You know, Michael posted like an immature fifteen year old, but the truth of it was, the ripostes that he garnered, had me on the floor a couple of times laughing so hard, I cried. So, while he was sorta weird, it wasn’t as annoying to me, as it appeared to be to others. He has admitted in another thread that he did post to get attention and get people upset, so he uses people, THAT does tend to ‘bug people’.
