Why was Strunk banned?
Dang, ETF. I think you’ve been composing poetry too long around here. Even when you’re writing prose, you nearly break out into dactylic meter.

Mopery, dopery, multiboard jerkdom…

Sounds like a great first line to me.

Hmmm…

Mopery, dopery, multiboard jerkdom –
Who will rid me of this meddlesome troll?
Mods! Be alert for more hosiery irkdom,
Sockdolageous shit-stirring’s out of control!

Eh, needs work, but it will have to do for now.
Just since that caught my eye. I knew that from that thread at least that Liberal used to go by Libertarian, although admittedly I almost certainly wouldn’t refer to him AS libertarian unless, say, I had just read a post referring to his old name.
He was the first person in that thread to refer to him as Libertarian. If he was new, how did he know that?

Let us all be on the lookout for RTT!

We should always be ever diligent against the onslaught of RTT.

QX and out,

Here’s a thought that lumbered into my mind about that: It seems possible, perhaps highly likely, that if QSS in fact was a newcomer, he could have learned of Lib’s libertarian philosophy through their interactions in Great Debate and that he happened to address him by “Libertarian” in that sense.

Yes, I agree – that’s really stretching it, especially given that he capitalized the word, although some people do capitalize it when referring to adherents of that worldview. I’m more inclined to the hypothesis that QSS was in fact a troll familiar with the board’s history and bent on stirring shit. Was he actually prr? I daresay we’ll never know, since even if QSS were to somehow launch a missive in here declaring such identity there’d be no way to prove it one way or the other.

Earlier in the thread, Colibri on page 2 of that thread had mentioned both** Liberal**'s old and new usernames when he linked to some of Liberal’s old posts. So it wasn’t impossible or even improbable that QSS could have figured it out from there. I’m not saying he did. . .just saying that it wasn’t as unlikely as it would seem at first glance.

ETA: I sure didn’t know that Liberal had formerly been Libertarian until I read that post.

Too far, I fear. Here is his posting history in toto. Also, he copped to trolling (or puppetry) after being called on it. (The **Libertarian **thing.)

Exactly. A plan so clever you could put a tail on it and call it a weasel. Come to think of it, a weasel either way. Or maybe an attention whore?

**Lib ** posted the history of his name in a “Where did your user name come from?” thread in IMHO a few weeks ago.

I’m new, and I knew about Lib’s previous name. I don’t think **QSS ** knowing his previous name proves anything.

Except, as noted, that he claimed to be “busted” and “p.r.r” directly after being called on it.

His first post was five days ago. Guests cannot search. Q.E.D. did mention the name Libertarian in this thread however, as **Heffalump **noted

Perhaps not. However, using it in preference to the current version appears…suggestive.

Wasn’t there another poster who was banned a few weeks ago who kept calling Liberal “Libertarian”, even though s/he was a guest?
I can’t remember know what thread it was in- a pit thread maybe- and there was much ado about the fact that s/he knew Liberal’s previous name.
Does anyone else remember this?

Gotta go search…

Sorry for the double post but…
Here is the one I was thinking about .

The poster was banned and he uses “Libertarian” to talk about Liberal in that thread-

Any connection, I wonder?

Exactly. Why, I wonder, don’t people read the thread before pretending to be Sherlock Holmes?
For what it’s worth: On another, SDMB-related board where I’m a member, According to Pliny was an infrequent and unremarkable poster until the last couple of months, when he began tossing some jarringly unpleasant bombshells into threads. He’s still there but hasn’t posted in the last few days. Maybe something’s going on in his life that’s set him off into mopery, dopery, and multiboard jerkdom?
And are mopery and dopery lesser included offenses under multiboard jerkdom?

All I have to say about any of this shit is…

Well, fuck me!

One of these  and three of these

I was off the hook from the moment I sent the money to Tris. He is the arbiter of trust agreed to by both me and PRR. What he does with the money — whether it’s to send it straightaway to PRR, wait two years, give it to charity, or buy a whore — is entirely up to him. I am merely trusting that he will use it to the best of his (not my — his) ability in the manner in which it was intended. If Tris is satisfied that PRR has not posted here, then I have every confidence that he will execute the plan. But I can’t (forgive the probable mutilation of a legal term) ex-parte tell him, “Oh, I think you should do this or that with the money.” That would contravene his fiduciary relationship with PRR. It’s simply not my money anymore.

Got it - thanks for your response.

Interesting thought.

Resists the impulse to race off and do a search to see if p r r is banned.

Shodan
