Why was this thread closed? (Just curious, no complaint)

Hi guys. Knead to Know’s seemingly harmless thread about an old Spenser TV movie had been answered (by me), but a few of us wanted to find out why the question was being asked in the first place.

About a minute or so after Knead to Know posted his “thank you,” the thread was closed. I understand there’s a general “asked and answered” policy in GQ, but in Cafe Society? Why the rush to close that thread? Was my link bad or something?

The OP used “report this post” to say we could. I was going to leave it open – either Ellen Cherry or Marley (can’t tell who) locked it, though.

I agree, no need to lock, so I opened it again.

Cool, thank you, twickster.

(Yipe, I hope I’m not obligated to post something useful in that thread now!)

Edited to add… Annnnnd now Marley23’s closed it again. Dang, what nefarious and/or confidential activity is Knead to Know planning to use this information for? I smell a conspiracy!

KneadtoKnow asked the mods to close the thread after the question was answered, so I did. I had to take care of some other things, so I didn’t get the chance to post the usual ‘closed at the OP’s thread’ note. I’ve locked the thread now and posted the note.

Okay, Marley and I have discussed – it’s open now, and will remain so, unless, of course, Ellen Cherry is feeling esp. mischievous.

Well, it wouldn’t be any fun now
