Why Would You Take a ROCKET LAUNCHER to the Dump?

Okay, I realize that you might not know what to do with it at first, but I can’t imagine why you’d think the dump was the place to go.

I know what I’d do with the thing: I’d make sure that the local TV stations finally understood that buzzing my place while doing the morning traffic report was not a good idea!

Given the way she’s holding it, I’m guessing it’s not loaded.

Found it in a shed, my <censored> :stuck_out_tongue:

The article doesn’t say whether they gave the guy the sneakers for his kid or not.

I don’t see what the big deal is. I mean doesn’t everybody use these for hunting ducks?

If I had a rocket launcher, some son of a bitch would die.

They did.

They’d just about have to let him have the shoes–they’d want to encourage all those other people out there who also just happen to have a spare rocket launcher in the shed.
try not to think about the implications of that too much

That’s a TOW anti-armour missile tube isn’t it? Not the SAM they’re claiming.

I think you meant to post this in the thread about pornography.

Does it matter?
It’s still not your average handgun.

It is in Florida!

On a messageboard with the tagline “Fighting ignorance since 1973”?

I suppose not.

You never heard of an ammo dump?

It depends on when the missile was built.

You can buy missle tubes legally, right? I think I’ve seen them in army surplus stores. The article should have explained a little better that what the guy had was a hell of a long ways from a missle

A friend’s husband swore up & down he was getting a grenade launcher for his M-16 and was using as justification “tree stump removal”.

So much for Arbor Day.

I was assuming a totally different kind of rocket launcher when I opened this thread.

In the Mundane Pointless Things I Must Share forum on said messageboard? Where it will be bracketed by Mafia games, Dopefest announcements, a thread on bedbugs, “Fathom is back up”, “What’s in your emergency kit?”, and the bookshelf-photo thread?

Good on ya for fighting ignorance when all around you are just wasting time at work, I guess.

It’s a TOW (see photos #3 & #5), or rather the casing for one, and they are perfectly legal to own. The reporter is an idiot, and both he, the fact-checker and the feature editor should be fired.

Sheesh, a little harsh, don’t you think?

The cops they interviewed for the piece probably told them it was a SAM. They would not likely have had any reason to question it.

Well they damn well should have. I’m sure there are quite a few people in the area who now believe their neighbor had an Anti Aircraft missile when in reality he was in possession of a length of tube.
