Am I the only one who doesn’t think she’s outstandingly beautiful? Pretty enough in a generic “overtanned blonde bimbo Barbie” way, but no more so than a lot of girls her age.
I would do her, but I would not want to be seen in public with her.
I’m pretty sure that if I tried I could find some guys who’d say that about me, so I’m not sure this helps us place her on any kind of attractiveness spectrum.
She is pretty enough to have sex with, but too cheap and plastic looking to be seen with in public. Happy ? 
I would agree that plenty of other young women are at least equally attractive, but it’s not like her parents’ behavior would be acceptable if their daughter really were the prettiest girl in town.
I’m not disputing that, they sound sleazy at best. I was simply puzzled by how a girl not much above average in looks keeps getting described as a “beauty queen”.

Because she won beauty pageants. I don’t know a lot about the world of pageantry, but it’s not just about being the prettiest – it’s also about having the “right” style of clothes/hair/makeup, walking the right way, talking the right way, and coming across as poised and confident.
What are you implying? That because certain parents don’t prepare their kids for the real world, that we should continue to give them a free pass as adults? :dubious:
She’s an adult now. She gets to learn how the real world operates. If that’s different than the way she thinks it works, then she’s only one of a few billion people who have the same problem.
Hopefully, she will get a bit of a wakeup call here and start thinking about how she’s really going to live in the world. Unfortunately, the more realistic expectation is that she will start looking for a full time sugar daddy so that she doesn’t have to earn a real living.

There’s blame on her. Even if the parents are kooky, at some point in her mid to late teens she should have taken stock of her life and wondered where it was headed towards. More pageants? All of those girls are in college so she better get her butt into college. No more pageants? Great. Do work… at your parents’ window tinting business? Screw that? Dance professionally? Something. I’m sure if you asked 16 year old Alicia what she wanted to do, it wasn’t “I’ll strip and prostitute part time.”
Put it another way. You can try to keep your child in diapers forever but up to a point the kid will say “no. i don’t want to do this anymore. it’s weird. i’m growing up.” this could be her moment. She’s a vile, self-centered harpy for sure but her life isn’t completely ruined. She’s only 20.
On a tangent, iamthewalrus points out that she now has a lawyer; can he legally defend her in court? Presumably he’d need to get someone else to defend him, unless she’s secretly a legal expert herself.

At the bottom of the Huffington Post article, there is a link to a collection of documents including the arrest reports for both Doyle and Gustaferro. On page 14 is what appears to be a transcript of a police interview of Gustaferro (I say “appears to be” because the language in there does not sound like how I would imagine any normal people would talk). It says:

Someone should tell her that you can’t just make up a Jewish-sounding name, and a lawyer will instantly appear. It doesn’t work that way.
No, we should try to educate her. You are advocating punishing her. You seem to be incapable of processing the fact that this girl could have just as easily been you if you’d grown up in the same situation (and were female). Such a lack of empathy is offensive.
