Wii Sports Resort

Right on, I hope you have fun with it, but if it’s just not your style, that’s cool too

I’m another, btw, who feels like most “simulation” sports games are too much; even the Tiger games. My favorite golf game was Jack Nicklaus Golf for SNES.

Yeah, I could handle Madden back on the SNES. But now? I’m like a lost puppy in a bit city. There’s like 7-buttons of which’s action changes dependent on the exact context within that moment in time. It’s too much for me.

Red Barchetta: how much different is the 2010 Tiger Woods game than earlier versions?

I have the 2007 game, and despite some of it’s bugs (accidental putting being chief among them) I never found it overly complicated to play. In fact, it’s my favorite golf game, even if it is frustrating sometimes (hey, just like the real thing!).

Is it the WiiMotion gadget that makes it, um, more complicated? I haven’t tried any games with it yet. Too hung up on PC gaming to play much Wii these days, and I think I have like 18 Wii games!

I’m not sure, I didn’t play the earlier versions, just 2010. We were playing with the Wii MotionPlus though, but I’m not sure it had much bearing on the complexity. Things like adding draw and fade by dragging the aiming circle around, or holding down a button and shaking the Wii Remote…it wasn’t very intuitive, and gave me a new-found appreciation for Wii Sports.

I’m sure were I to sit down with it, I’d get the hang of it–I have no doubts of that. But I know my dad wouldn’t want to deal with that, as the game left him instantly frustrated when he kept failing the tutorials for no apparent reason (when I finally passed it, I had no why).

I had difficulty passing the tutorials in the 2007 version until I became acquainted with the game a little. Tell your Dad not to give up, apparently it’s one of the best franchises for the Wii…

I only played the game for a couple of hours, but I must say I didn’t like it at all. Almost none of the games seemed any fun. The exceptions being perhaps archery and basketball which were ok.
I’ll give the game another chance, but my first impression was not great.:frowning:

By the way, what do you do?

I’m a game guide writer.

Wow, that’s cool. Did you work on the guide to Mario Galaxy, by any chance? Because it, like, tripled the value I got out of the game by helping me find all the question-mark stars and get to 120. I owe whoever wrote that a high five.

If it was an online guide, maybe! I did write, what I think, is the best one on the internet (because I adored that game). I don’t want to get too specific with where I work though, so I can maintain a shred of anonymity
