Wildlife Artists?

My nephews are major hunters/fishermen. If it breathes and has fur, fins or feathers, they want to kill it.

My youngest nephew collects Les Kouba art. His walls are completely covered in originals and prints. We want to start buying for my oldest nephew, but don’t know the names of fairly collectible wildlife artists. Okay, we know Redlin, but he’s way overexposed.

Any suggestions?

I don’t know what qualifies as collectible but I like Jim Wilson. His drawings don’t have overly embellished backgrounds but the details on the subject are wonderful. I own one print and several t-shirts. I’ve been seeing his stuff for a long time but I am mostly familiar with him because his art is used as the official art of the Eastern States Veterinary Conference and he usually has a booth there. The man is always sketching whenever I’ve seen him.

Robert Bateman

Guy Coheleach

John Banovich

Lindsey Foggett

Glen Loates (his website is down)
There’s another who is escaping my recollection at this time.

Beverly Doolittle

She does a lot of native american stuff too. I like her pictures because there is usually something “hidden” in them.

Calling the Buffalo

Doubled Back

Escape by a Hare

Season of the Eagle

Carl Brenders

If you mouse over the titles of the pieces, the pictures should pop up.

Jim Brandenburg

I enjoy many of the others listed.

oops
I thought this thread included photography as well.
Actually, some of Brandenburg’s stuff is very artistic indeed, but he is not a painter.

An artist from my own area of the country is very good.
