I’ve just got a PS3 and before even setting it up I lost the controller:eek:. I have no idea where it is but after hours of fruitless searching I have to assume the controller gnomes have nicked it. Looking on ebay I can see generic PC controllers that are cheaper than knock-off PS3 controllers, which are in turn cheaper than Sony branded controllers. I’ve tried searching to see if the PS3 can accept a PC controller, but the answers are unclear. So, does anybody know if I plug in a generic PC controller, will the PS3 accept it?

In fact older model generic PS3 controllers were also made incompatible via an update.
If you don’t mind it being wired you can get a good PowerA wired PS3 controller off Amazon prime at GameStop for $12.
