Today we’re going to MiL’s for a BBQ that she’s holding in honor of my son. She wanted a little good-bye function. I’m going to bring a salad and hubby will be manning the grill.
Other than dashing to the store for the fixin’s for the salad, that is the extent of my plans. Well, as I know them to be at the moment.
On Friday I got a call from an acquaintance who owns a restaurant we love. He is also an owner/trainer of race horses. He asked if we would like to be his guests in an owner’s box at the track.
We were thrilled to say yes.
He told us to meet him in the paddock before the first race. We did. We got to meet the jockey, while our friend helped him mount. Our friend then said to stay close. We went in and put a $2.00 bet on his horse. (only polite, after all) Then stayed by the rail for the race.
The horse won! We were invited into the winner’s circle, had pictures taken AND we won $32.00!
We stayed for a couple more races, but since we’re trying to save, rather than spend money, we didn’t bet anymore.
The day was sunny and 70s. We had the top down on the convertible. It was a good day.

Poor Mr Rebo is having difficulties with the new toilet installation. The floor is not level for one thing. He’ll figure out a way to fix it. New flooring is not an option!

The computer started bluescreening again Friday night. Culinary Boy had a *major *brainfart and started reformatting the computer before backing up files. Thus I have now lost all the files I didn’t lose in all the other crashes. :mad:
I see this as an opportunity to start afresh. Transitory things, and such. Also, I have already laid a guilt trip on Culinary Boy that resulted in him bringing me food home from his work yesterday. Spinach fettuccine with a slab o’ salmon and alfredo sauce. *Fresh *fettuccine.

If you don’t do anything else to that disk, you can probably recover just about everything.
Assuming you have not started to install Windows on the freshly-reformatted drive, go get Disk Internals’ Partition Recovery tool. You can test it for free. If it looks like it will save your bacon, you can then buy it for $140.
Break time. I slapped some paint on the one little section of wall, then **FCD **and I took down the screen door and wall outside the basement so we could bring the big stuff in. I rolled one of his big work tables down from the garage so he’d have a place to build the plumbing for his air lines. Then I started working in the wreck that is my studio.
So far, I’ve got all the towels stacked neatly, all the clay on the shelf (I’ve got almost 200#, so plenty to keep me busy) and I sorted thru all the stuff I’ve made. There are 3 flower pots I intend to use, and another pot I’m giving to my sister. I have a box of rather ugly pieces that I need to decide what to do with. The rest is on another shelf. There’s also one really big box full of wrapping papers for when I start doing shows again.
Next step is to get all my tools together and sorted. I’ll need a toolbox for class next month and the rest need to be organized and put in bins or something so that I can use them. I’ve got a lot of moving around of stuff to do also - I’m getting rid of the deep sink and getting another sink that will drop into the L-shaped counter that will be moved where the sink is now. Lots of stuff will be rearranged before the dust settles. But I should have a good studio when it’s all done.

Howdy Y’all! Today has been deheathenization, N.O.L. and loungin’ in the pool for a while. I’m inside now and all showered. I’m hopin’ those clouds buildin’ will bring some rain in a while. They look all rain cloudy. We may go get sump’n to eat later or make sammiche at da cave. This is TBD.
Too late, it’s already reformatted and reinstalled. And now my wallet’s missing. Computer Boy’s going to ask his friend that came over last night to see if he noticed it when he was here and I’m going to tear the bedroom apart later. If neither one of those last two attempts works, I’m going to spend my tomorrow cancelling things and getting new cards. Damn. It.
I worked, skipped pool time because of the monsoon. I’m going out for Italian instead.
PapaJohn made supper because I couldn’t be bothered.
And now I’m going to assume the knit position till I’m ready for bed. I’ve got tomorrow’s MMP ready to go and I’ll probably post it after the idiot dog wakes me up for her morning pee. Meanwhile, I’m outta here. Kisses, hugs, and gropes - take your pick!

Sunday evenin’ tahrdness and sleepiness. There’s a tstorm comin’ in. YAY!!! Ima go lie upon the bed and watch teevee 'til sleepy time. Logan’s Roadhouse made dindin. 'Twas actually not too bad.

Italian was good. Turns out the owner is a long time customer of mine. I found out why my “just friend” has slowed things down. Apparently some mutual friends are doing a bit of back stabbing so we’re all equally miserable. When was I sent back to 5th grade?
Am home sweet home. Yay!
Tigers won (watch out - there’s sound with that link!), Verlander pitched a really good game, opposing pitcher got ejected, Angels almost caught up late in the game. Could’a been cooler out, but otherwise: fun game.

So I lied; I’ve sobered up now, but I got good and plastered at my sister’s house this afternoon, and saw most of my family. I’ve now passed the big 5-0 landmark, and ma-an, did they ever rub it in. It’s her turn next year.
