Good thing your tolerance of gun crime is outweighed by concern about the national origin of certain criminals.
It’s kind of a odd case as far as “gun crime” goes though. He found a gun that was stolen from a Park Ranger and it was a ricochet off a concrete pilon that killed the woman.
That is a fair point.
It’s not often that you hear, “I was just high out of my mind and trying to shoot a harbor seal when I missed and… uh, I mean I just FOUND a gun and it went off when I just looked at it!” and then have a California jury determine that such gun accidents are just part of life in the United States; nobody should really be blamed.
That would be pretty close to the opposite of what I said. I am saying that there is overmuch concern about the immigration status of this individual, enough so that the details of the case really don’t matter, just the rallying cry of “murderer.”
The accident with the gun had nothing to do with the immigration status of the individual. It is those trying to make it an issue that are more concerned about “national origin” than gun crime.
You do realize that Urbanredneck is using this case as an example of why he is prejudiced against all “illegals” as he likes to call them. Do you think that it is the gun or the individual who accidentally discharged it that he is upset with?
If a white US citizen kills someone with a ricochet, it’s the price we pay for our freedom to own guns.
I know exactly what urbanredneck’s agenda is, to make illegal immigrants look like the scourge of the country. And he’s wrong.
But that doesn’t mean that your efforts to minimize the death of this woman, just so all immigrants are not tarnished by wrongful association, are right.
