This would be a really interesting outcome, especially if Trump lost by just a few % points. Whether or not it would damage the GOP though is for more knowledgeable folks to say.
Not to mention removing polling places from college campuses.

CNN. Republican-controlled legislatures around the country have moved to erect new barriers to voting for high school and college students in what state lawmakers describe as an effort to clamp down on potential voter fraud. Critics call it a blatant attempt to suppress the youth vote as young people increasingly bolster Democratic candidates and liberal causes at the ballot box.
As turnout among young voters grows, new proposals that change photo ID requirements or impose other limits have emerged.
Laws enacted in Idaho this year, for instance, prohibit the use of student IDs to register to vote or cast ballots. A new law in Ohio, in effect for the first time in Tuesday’s primary elections, requires voters to present government-authorized photo ID at the polls, but student IDs are not included. Identification issued by universities has not traditionally been accepted to vote in the Buckeye State, but the new law eliminates the use of utility bills, bank statements and other documents that students have used before.
A proposal in Texas would eliminate all campus polling places in the state.
…
As usual, Texas leads the way…
I would encourage young voters to obtain gun licenses in the area that they’re authorized to vote. Obviously, they don’t have to purchase a gun, but that gun license should persuade the ReTHUGlicans to let them vote.
It only has to damage them a tiny amount to completely destroy their chances.
What do the initials “TFG” stand for?
The Former Guy. It’s how President Biden refers to Trump.
May I say as an aside the whole deal of initialisms to avoid referring to him by name is getting tired.
The True MAGAs feel that the rich business owners owe them to continue funding the GOP, and if they don’t they should be punished (see: DeSantis v. Disney).
As to the Gen Z’ers, as mentioned by others, if the suppression techniques are effective…
No, really, they need their own cohort equivalent of Stacey Abrams to get them out there no matter the trouble. Being all in favor of the good policies is pointless if you are not able to turn it into votes.
And confusing as there seems to be enough of a variety that I have to figure out 1) if it’s a Trump-specific abbreviation at all; and 2) what it means.
Why not just use “Trump”?
I just go by the assumption that any abbreviation that I don’t recognize refers to Mr. Trump.
YMMV.
I would say infantile.
That’s what I’ve done too.
I suspect GenZ will come out in record numbers.
Young voters have always been notoriously bad at actually turning out to vote, but when I was their age, that was largely because who won the election didn’t really seem to matter much. Taxes went up a bit, or down a bit, funding went down a bit, or up a bit, big deal. Nothing felt like an existential crisis, like “If they win, people will die.”
But these days? Now this shit really does matter. Just look at the one question of abortion. For decades this was just a political buzzword, “Oh, they just use that to bring out religious voters, they won’t ever actually do anything about it!” But now they have. There’s one party that will roll back access to abortion, and is actively doing just that right now. There’s one party that will restore abortion access, so now your vote really matters.
And it’s the same on every other major issue. You have DeSantis talking about using the unfettered power of the Presidency to “destroy leftism”, which we all know means oppressing the people he doesn’t like. Is there anyone who doesn’t believe he means exactly what he says, on either side of the debate? Gen Z has spent their entire lives watching this shit just get worse, and I think they know that voting out the Republicans is their only chance to stop it, or even just slow it down.
