Will this offensive ad by a Hispanic group hurt or help Trump more?

How is it that relevant to encouraging children to be vulgar? How does it impact the children’s lives? I just don’t get parent(s) that think it’s cute or funny to have kids swear like a sailor.

If you disagree with The Donald there are better ways of expressing it.

The cultured, thoughtful and reasonable approach has been tried. I don’t think Trump supporters respond to it.

Man, I detest Trump, but if that’s “failure”, bring it on, baby!! I’d take 1/100 of that “failure” if it were offered to me.

If someone paid me megabucks to say “you’re fired” to a bunch of reality show losers, I think I could live with myself.

Amusing but typical how Cuck Rubio seemed even more offended by it then Trump, who simply dismissed it manfully and moved it onto the issues. Is Rubio hoping to get Trump’s delegates at the convention by white-knighting for him?

So you are going to convince Trump supporters or win more on the fence people with cursing trashy kids?

Wait, he’s the one who was killed by the sparrow with his bow and arrow, right? And the thrush sang a psalm as she sat on the bush, and all. I knew I’d heard of him somewhere.

Personally, I don’t think it’s in very good taste for adults to encourage children to use foul language or even to dub foul language into children’s dialogue (which according to other posters’ reports is what was done in this video).

But IMO you should not be calling these children “trashy”. Saying the video presents these kids as exhibiting trashy behavior is one thing, but actually calling them “trashy kids” is out of line AFAIC.

In any case, I doubt that the foul language qua foul language in the video will change any voters’ minds about Trump in either direction. I think the actual content of the video exclusive of the cursing, which emphasizes the humanity and proud American identity of Hispanic immigrants, will probably have the net effect of slightly increasing voters’ disgust with Trump and his anti-immigrant slurs.

You are correct. It’s not the fault of the children they are being misused.

Possibly neither but who cares. The ad has entertainment value in and of itself, and I do not believe Trump ever had a serious shot at the presidency, anyway.

Just made a search at YouTube for "racist Trump supporters.’ Got lots of hits but was too disgusted to watch any for linking. How many Hispanic votes will those bigots win for Trump?

Now back to your pearl clutching…

Absolutely. Those who unable to grant the simple fact that Trump is successful are inadvertently saying their opinions on Trump needn’t be listened to.

John, you are not alone although I am not sure of Trump’s motive at this point. He trashes the Republicon’s whenever he has a chance which leads me to believe he’s a closet Democrat role playing for the sport of it

Maybe they have a different definition of “success” than you do. Since we don’t live in a particularly effective meritocracy, there is little correlation between wealth and either merit or ability, and all kinds of completely useless nitwits who have contributed nothing to society and mismanaged their personal or business affairs are nevertheless extremely wealthy for one reason or another. Some of them, like Trump, are national laughingstocks. This is kind of an important distinction considering that the guy is running for president on the basis of some alleged abilities that have never been demonstrated.

Successful? Sure: born on third base, he’s wandered toward home plate.

But symbolic of jobs? The dude whose catchphrase is, “You’re fired,” symbolic of jobs? Bullshit.

Complete and utter nonsense. Anyone, whether you like him or not, who turns a $1 million into 10is billion is wildly successful. Even if he inherited 20 million or so along the way.

But thanks for providing a shining example for the post you responded to.

If this is supposed to be funny, well, it’s just a failure at humor. But if you really think that since the catchphrase he uses in his very successful TV show—in which a dozen or so contestants compete to be the one he hires—is the most accurate summation of both his career and his campaign speeches, well, let’s just say you need to recheck your logic.

That’s not what I said. What I said is what I said.

The shining example here is another demonstration of just what I said: that some have a boundless and uncritical admiration for wealth regardless of the personal and professional failings of the individual in question, regardless of how useless they are to society. Just as long as they’re rich. It’s one of our major failings as a society, and it really bites us in the ass if we ever elevate such an individual to a position of political power.

Taking the ramifications of this ad seriously is unfortunately paired with a requirement to take Trump seriously, and I can’t bring myself to do so.

I’m hispanic. I think the ad is ridiculous and panders to the lowest common-denominator. However, one bad ad won’t push me to vote for anyone. That is the same kind of knee-jerk response that lead to this stupid spot being made. What others say about a candidate has far less to do with my voting choice than what the candidate themselves say & nothing that has come out of Trump’s mouth gives me any reason to support him.
