Will this thread last until Monday Aug/8/2005?

So often I’ve observed (or at least expected) that there’s a Weekend Crowd here at SDMB with a different mindset and agenda from the Workweek Crowd. Topics that are cruising right along during the week will fizzle and die over the weekend. Topics started on the weekend will vanish by Monday.

Of course there are exceptions. Otherwise it wouldn’t be a rule.

But if this thread gets any replies (not that it will) I wonder what are the odds it will still have any activity on Monday.

Once it’s off the “front page” (however that’s defined in your case) will you even look to see if it’s still alive?

As for content on this thread, you choose. Maybe some thoughts on Novak, the shuttle, whether Kaysar can beat out that runt to get back in BB6, or some random thoughts about Prozac, pregnancy and PCP.

Whatever…

You sound like you’re trying to make an MMP (Monday Morning Post) for the weekend Dopers. (FMP - Friday Morning Post?) Not a bad idea.

I was beginning to wonder if this thread was going to make it past Replies=0.

Maybe the Saturday Morning Post would be as catchy?

I used to get the Saturday Morning Post, but I cancelled. Delivery was spotty, but then my bird died and I had no reason for it anymore.

Egads man! A Shroedinger’s post!!!

We use the newspaper to cushion the litter in the cat box. Pre-recycling, I maintain. Maybe that’s really “cycling”?

Caramba, dude! Check the post I was making while you were doing this one! Maybe I better hop over to the “Agnostics, What will it take for you to believe in God?” thread and testify.

You rock today. You’re super-witty for some reason. Something in the water?

Nothing like a back handed complement to really make a guy’s weekend, eh?!
Pssst… want to know the truth? The child custody portion of my separation agreement has been finalized. It’s all good. No court date needed. Nobody’s nose is out of joint and I’m one step closer to closing this sad little chapter.

It has to last until Monday. 08-08 is my birthday, when I shall be <mumble> years old.

I have to work on Sunday – which is to say I’ll be spending hours browsing the SDMB. If I promise to post to this thread on Sunday, will you promise to post to one of my future pitiful languishing low-reply threads?

Gladly. Are there are such threads at present? I’ll look at your profile, but if there’s one in particular you want nudged just say so.

P.S.: I admire your definition of “work.” I had a similar way of occupying my office hours.

Thanks for offering, but I wouldn’t want for any of those humiliating debacles to be resurrected. It’s enough for me to believe that someday you will see one of my sad attempts at humor/brilliance, and you will post to it words of such wit that my O.P. will shine with reflected glory.

I can dig it, and will be watching for the opportunity to do just that.

Should I?

:Scratches head::

Naaaaahhhhhh!

My thread, it burns at both its ends,
It glows with Doper chic.
But oh, my foes, and oh, my friends,
It won’t last till next week.

Congratulations! And Jubilations!

Honestly, I would have just come out and say you’re being exceptionally witty today, but I didn’t want to be accused of gasp flirting.

I meant to post this earlier, but I had to leave. I just want to put it out there that 08/08 is my four-month anniversary* with my boyfriend. We’re going to do something special, I think.

Anyway, if the SDMB does change somehow on the weekend, I haven’t noticed. I usually come across everything a little late, so I don’t pay attention to whether I’m reading posts from the weekend or the week. Personally, I’m here pretty much all the time, more or less.

*Incidentally, the ann- in anniversary means “year” so the phrase “four-month anniversary” is a contradiction in terms. Four-month-iversary works well.

I’ve even tried to locate a word for monthly or less-than-annual recurrence of things in the same vein as “anniversary” and so far not found the word. I wondered if “luniversary” might work.
