Willing to GM a Diplomacy game-using the 1900 rules

Confirm that I’d like to play. Is there a way to set a notification when this thread is updated?

At the top of the thread is a drop-down menu called Thread Tools. In there is a button that’ll subscribe you to the thread.

I actually enjoy doing it by hand, so no issues there.

Still need two more…in the meantime, we’ll be choosing countries based on preference lists. Simply provide me (after the game starts!) with a list of your preferred countries, 1 to 7. Ties will be decided by a random device.

Only two more…

Suggested rule: Last place player has to GM a game of global diplomacy.

I tried that mod once, had to resign in exasperation, as it was just too much to take in.

Two more, folks…novices welcome (and I have plenty of resources available to get you up to speed)…

Alright gentlemen. I’d like to join you for this game of European Domination. Just be warned, I’ve never played before, but my buddy ACM told me about this game starting up and it sounded like it would be fun. At the risk of sounding like we are just going to team up all game you don’t need to worry he has already informed me that he will take me down just as spontaneously as one of you guys. I look forward to getting my ass handed to me on a platter

Rubberneck’s been around to play in some of the RPGs I’ve hosted on the site, figured we could use him to boost the player count.

Thanks ACM.

One more…

One more…

Once #7 is onboard, I’ll be willing to accept preferences lists for countries (e.g. “BFGAITR”, where Britain is 1st and Russia last). Those who send no preference list will get their country via the random device, as will those whose lists are tied for country X. You can send those to me right now if you wish, tho once the game starts all communication will be shifted to email.

One more note-since we are using the 1900 rules, I need to point out Russia’s Emergency Measures rule-essentially, if Russia loses one home center, it is allowed to keep (or rebuild, in Siberia if necessary) one more unit than centers that it holds. The designer of the mod felt that was necessary given how both Germany and Austria have been strengthened.

Here is the map with all of the starting positions-note the movement arrows, and how home centers have a dot in the middle, something neither French Algeria nor British Egypt have…

…and still one dagger sits on the table, waiting to be used…

Bumping once again.
