I’m running Windows XP-Home Ed. I use the fax program that came with XP. I can no longer see the items in the sent folder. When I open the folder, I can see the contents for a second, then they disappear. I know they’re there because on mouse-over, the details of the sent fax are displayed. It’s almost like the text is white on a white background.
This is a recent problem. I must have changed some setting without realizing it but I can’t figure out what. Can anyone help?
I can’t imagine what “setting” would cause this behavior and I certainly wasn’t able to find anything on my machine nor when searching the Microsoft Knowledgebase. I assume you did all the standard stuff like going to “View” -> “Refresh Folder” from within the Fax module and also rebooted your machine.
If the easy stuff doesn’t help, you’ll probably end up having to delete/reinstall the fax. Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs -> Add/Remove Windows Components. You will most likely lose all the sent fax data when you do this so you might want to go in and Save any messages you need.
Thanks for responding Daffyduck. I did end up uninstalling/reinstalling and curiously besides fixing the problem, I lost none of the items in my received and sent folders. Go figure.
