Oh yeah? Well, you’re a doodyhead.

There you go – defaming coprafiliacs.
Whether this is some sort of Munchausen syndrome or other form of mental problem, this woman needs help. A lot of help.
Beyond that, I can’t get too outraged by this. Yes, there should be a level of decency when it comes to exploiting any tragedy and it should never be engaged in ($9.11 political donations, anyone?), ultimately, despite her apparent mental condition, she did a lot more good than harm. Yes, she garnered a lot (partially) undeserved sympathy for herself, and I’m sure her claims to have been engaged to David caused his family distress, but, to me, she used her exploitation of the situation to position herself to help others.
I hope she eventually comes clean or at least gets the help she needs to stop doing stuff like this.

So treatment for Munchausen’s Syndrome patients is pretty bleak - they’re on a watch even tighter than suicide watch, and cannot be trusted with anything, even their own feces.
Don’t get your hopes up. Like many others here, I find her case to have a number of traits analogous to the pathology of Munchausen’s Syndrome. I wrote a general ed level article for publication a couple years ago on Munchausen’s Syndrome and Munchausen’s Syndrome by Proxy. For all the attention to Munchausen’s Syndrome by Proxy it’s the far, far more rare pathology. While Munchausen’s is rare, there are enough cases for statistical analysis to be useful, that wasn’t the case for Munchausen’s by Proxy, so it’s even harder to talk about that. Except to discuss known (alas) incidents.
At the time I wrote my article there had been a relatively recent study in Oregon about the effects of accurate diagnosis for Munchausen’s Syndrome. The study found two things that I remember. First - because most sufferers of Munchausen’s Syndrome exhaust their own resources and end up on public health rolls each accurate diagnosis of Munchausen’s Syndrome saved the State on average something like $200K. Second - even with the direct evidence in front of the patient they usually would never admit, nor accept, that what they were suffering from were self-inflicted wounds.
So treatment for Munchausen’s Syndrome patients is pretty bleak - they’re on a watch even tighter than suicide watch, and cannot be trusted with anything, even their own feces.
I don’t have much hope for this woman’s recovery, if she’s really suffering a variant of Munchausen’s Syndrome.

Why must psychiatrists invent a stupid “syndrome” to label everyone?
Just label her “Fat Lying Bitch” and throw her ass to the curb.

You really lack reading skills, don’t you?
Whether or not this woman suffers from a variant of Munchausen’s Syndrome is one question. But when people go to the extreme of injecting themselves with a solution of toilet water, or even straight feces, in order to maintain their appearance as victims suffering from a debilitating disease that does not respond to treatment, don’t you think that maybe, just fucking maybe, there might be something going on more than being an attention-whoring idiot?
Unlike a person who is malingering, the sufferer of factitious disorder (to use the current DSM-IV term for the condition) not only doesn’t get anything materiel from his or her hoaxing, but is willing to sacrfice everything in their need to present themselves as suffering: Jobs, health, finances, marriages, family, friendships all get fed into the appetite of the disease.
If the diagnosis is both predictive, and descriptive, and allows health officials to at least minimize the damage the patient is doing to themselves, what part of that seems inappropriate and unnecessary to you?

I’m not a psychiatrist, but the label I’m coming up with for you isn’t very flattering.

I seem to remember that KGS is a Scientologist so his feelings on psychiatrists is a deeply held personal issue with religious significance. We shouldn’t berate him for his religious beliefs.

No, I am NOT a Scientologist. I don’t know where you got that idea???
I’ll assume (for now) that you are mistaken, and not deliberately slandering me.
I was gonna reply to the others, but you really pissed me off with that slight remark. Good day to you sir, and have a nice discussion.
You contradict yourself here, good sir.
And for the record I was just razzing you, psychiatry, Scientology and your similarities to each other at the same time.
eta: oh, and I guess I meant a winkie smilie rather than a sad smilie in the other post

So it was an intentional slur…duly noted.
How do I contradict myself? Your logic is fuzzy here.
You contradicted yourself by saying you would assume a mistake but then saying you were pissed and made a mad smilie at me.
How is that a contradiction? Please refine your English skills before you post.
Never mind…let’s get back to the topic of this obese lying whore. She’s the one who really needs to be sterilized.
Oh my understanding of English is just fine. No need for that silly link. I guess I should say that my lawyers would probably ask me to say it was a deliberate lampoon rather than a slur. Y oh, ever so tender MMV.
CarnalK, stop pretending to be a sociopath. I read your aura, I know what kind of person you really are. I have no desire to go ten rounds with you, my love.

Sorry, I thought I made it clear that this thread was basically a response to the other thread so that we might discuss the actions of this woman, instead of the poster who posted what was probably a purposefully inflammatory OP (inflammatory in the wrong ways, that is). For the record, if you look at my post in the other thread, I was trying to discuss this, rather than pile on the OP, and gave it up as fruitless.
What makes you so special that you can post duplicate threads, because the original one didn’t go the way U wanted it to?
I’m not pretending to be a sociopath. I made a little Scientology joke because you hate psych like they do. You got all offended.

You said, “I seem to remember that KGS is a Scientologist.” You claimed memory of an event that never happened. Either you lied, or you have incipient Alzheimer’s. Or, you were trolling. Which is it?
Interesting you would interprent my words that way.
