I think I have one matched set, and I suspect I’ve outgrown the bra (it’s been quite a while since I’ve worn it; it’s pink, after all, and what the hell do you wear a pink bra under?). The panties, on the other hand, are in the rotation along with all the others.
I am soooooo turned on…
Do they make bras with days of the week on them?
Hey, Doper Guys! Finally a female thread that’s about what you’ve wanted them to be about all along!
Me? I have two matching sets that are actually comfortable and fit, and if I wear the panties to either set it’s almost always with the bra that matches. But I don’t change my bra every single day, so the next day I’ll wear the same bra with unmatched clean panties. Follow?
I’ve never had a matching set in my life. I suppose I do match a lot of times by accident but I can honestly say I’ve never given a moment’s thought to it.
As a general rule, nope. Three main concerns: comfort, cleanliness, and whether the undies go with what I’m wearing (ie hipster knickers for hipster pants, light-coloured bras with light-coloured tops, and so on).
However, I do have a couple of sexy matching sets for very special occasions
I like to match, but I don’t panic if I don’t.
My undies come in two varieties - “plain” and “fancy”.
“Plain” are all either black or white, and match only by colour. A black cotton or black lace bra will be worn with one of the five-pack of plain black cotton underpants or one of the five-pack of plain black cotton thongs. A plain white bra will be worn with one of the five-pack of plain white cotton underpants. I use a drawer organiser for my plain underwear ‘n’ sock drawer, and each cell of the organiser contains the same species of underwear or sock.
“Fancy” are all in the form of matching lacy sets, in black, red, burgundy, purple, green, lilac, coral, navy etc. Some have one bra, one pair underpants, some have one bra and two pairs underpants. The best ones have a garter belt, too.
I got a Victoria’s Secret gift certificate once and ended up buying a matching set. I couldn’t get my boyfriend at all interested in them. In fact, the only interest any of my boyfriends have ever shown in my underwear is in getting them off.
Generally, my bra matches my shirt and my underwear matches my pants, in case anything pokes out. It’s more important during these summer months when the clothes are a bit skimpier. That makes a lot more sense to me than matching the bra and underwear.
I have one nice set of matching bra and panties, the rest are mostly white cotton. The nice set is for a special occasion, but NOT for a first time. I’d rather my partner not think that I was planning for it. I’m the type who seems spontaneous, but really always has a plan.
99% I don’t care if they match. It’s far more important to remember not to wear a dark colored bra with a light colored shirt
Yup. My friends and I refer to them as “grundies” they’re the couple or three pairs you would throw away, but…why risk ruining new and prefectly good underwear?
Hey! I call 'em grundies too!
Old and ratty undies are used for the bloody days, at lest the heavy days.
If I can match underwear without a lot of bother I will, but it’s not a huge deal for me. A higher priority is not wearing the black bra with the white shirt or the dark blue panties with the white trousers.
None of my underwear is fancy - it’s cotton and practical. A lot of my undies are dark colors - I don’t really care for pastels and which cheap, cotton undies were more often offered in dark, primary colors.
Is that what the kids are calling it these…
Oh. Timepiece. Gotcha ya.
Eh, not really. I used to make more of an attempt at matching, back when I was young and silly, but not so much anymore. I’d guess I accidentally co-ordinate as a result of complementary patterns and solid colors much more often than I make an effort to match. But sometimes, usually soon after laundry day, I’m just in a mood.
Personally, I can’t wait till the weather cools off again and the loud and obnoxiously patterned underwear can come back out.
My underwear always matches. When it’s all two colors (mocha or black) it’s not that hard. I don’t do it for any particular reason, except my nasty obsessive compulsive streak.
As for KSO’s question, that’s also a yes, but even then I match.
I always match. It’s kind of a thing of mine. Like gypsygirl, I match my underwear to my outerwear as well.
I’m pretty wacky about coordinating though. The first time my beau and I were, um, getting friendly, he checked out my ginch and said “Oh my god - they match!” and then he said “Wait a minute, this is Ginger - Of COURSE they match.”
I always thought that was really funny.
Whenever i change them (everyday of course) my mothers words always slip into my head which are what everyone in the world has heard that is of course the famous mom quote “what if you get into an accident” which means that our doctors care more about our panties than our critical condition in the hospital
Oh god, I’m just happy to discover I’ve got clean undies. Having to worry about making sure the top half and the bottom half matched on a day-to-day basis would just about make my head explode.
'Course, special occasions are a little different but, even then, it’s usually a desperate hunt through the back of the undie drawer looking for the black bra, I know it was here last time I looked…
Although the color of my underwear don’t always match the color of my brassiere, I do try to coordinate them. And the color of my underwear must coordinate with the outfit I’m wearing.
Sometimes I wear low (not ultra low, just a tad lower than normal) cut pants and every now and again I find myself on the floor at work (checking network drops, tracing cables, etc.). If you’re going to get a peek at the waistband of my undies you’re going to see a waistband that matches, dammit!
Whenever I buy a new brassiere from Vickies, I buy four or five new pair of underwear in coordinating colors (they’re usually on a table, four for twenty, or some jazz like that).
White cotton.
Comfy.
No, I don’t dress to impress anyone.
Hell, I can’t even manage the matching socks thing…
I guess they sorta match cos they’re all black…
