Both of my bras are black so sometimes they match, and sometimes they don’t.
No one seems to mind.
Isn’t it enough that they’re clean?
Does anyone wear bars with clear straps? Laura wore one once and I thought it was a good idea - even if its not invisible the bra strap doesn’t clash with a dress strap of any colour.
And what’s matching underwear then, eh?
In one sense, my bras and underwear (I stopped wearing ‘panties’ when I was 6) always match, because they are all white (white cotton waisties, I’m proud to say); but those pretty printed little matched sets scratch or don’t fit right or cost the earth or promote yeast infections and prickly heat
AND if you own them, there will always be those days when all that’s clean is a chartreuse bra and cerise underwear.
And a white dress.
Actually, on some women that might work.
Re: period undies; as all mine are white cotton and bleachable, no I don’t really have any. But if I’m ever suprised, those pairs go to the bottom of the pile; they’re my reminder to do a white wash soon.
I like the idea of matching your underwear to your t-shirt.
And I love matching your hair scrunchie to your socks
My matching undies are for my husband’s benefit rather than my own. I can’t find stuff to fit here in Japan, so I always have to wait until the next trip back to Aust. and then buy up big. But Mum always buys knickers for me on request.
Funny…last time she bought me knickers, she bought granny ones. I was horrified! But then I fell pregnant soon after, and I tell you what, I’m getting my moneys worth out of them now!
Possible TMI…My period knickers are all in different dark colours. Red, burgundy or black.
Well, by the time I get 'em down to their skivvies, things have always become rather informal, so that is a bit redundant. But the women I “poll”, like to be polled redundantly.
Special occasion stuff always matches but the day to day stuff is more likely to match what I’m wearing on the outside.
Whenever I’ve asked leechboy if he likes the matching underwear thing he’s replied - “who cares as long as you take it off”.
slightly off the topic: its my birthday soon and because I love playing with the dear boys head I have asked leechboy to buy me some sexy underwear, can’t wait to see what he brings home
I was just a bit confused by j66’s post , I was raised thinking that the word pantie was used to describe womens lower under wear in general . Is this wrong ?
Cat girl;
I just have a problem with the word ‘panties’; it sounds so little girl. I am an adult, so I choose to wear ‘underwear’, or, in very informal situations, ‘undies’.
So, why are ‘panties’ offensive, and ‘undies’ just fine? Haven’t a clue; just another lingguistic prejudice.
BUT what are ‘granny knickers’? I suspect they are white cotton waisties, such as I prefer, but if they are not, what are they and where can I get some? They sound really comfortable.
Granny pants are those big undies that are usually a weird shade of brown or white and that are totally unflattering; but terribly comfortable.
And you can usually get them anywhere, like say, KMart or some other place like that. Usually not in the shops that sell little lacy numbers though.
And speaking of little lacy numbers, how DO girls manage to wear them without scratching themselves all day? Am I the only girl here who finds lacy bras and undies totally uncomfortable??
I want my slacks and skirts to be flattering; I want my underwear to be comfortable.
Yup, it sounds to me like ‘grannies’ are white cotton waisties (other prejudice; I don’t wear ‘panties’, but I wear ‘waisties’. But what else do you call underwear that comes up high enough to not leave a visible line across your belly?)
I don’t even remember if lacy underclothes are uncomfortable, it’s been so long since I’ve worn any. Maybe they have less sensitive skin?
I love the lacy stuff doesn’t seem itchy when I wear it - mebe I’m used to it.
Note - never were a lacy white bra with a white shirt as your nipples will show through.
