I sometimes take mine off after work. Sometimes I leave it on. But I never put one on to begin with on the weekend, unless I’m going somewhere special.
I don’t wear any underwear to bed–just seems way too constricting.
But I would never wear a bra more than once. The only things I’ll wear more than once without washing are leggings, jeans, and skirts. The thought of wearing a bra again skeeves me a little.
I only wear a bra when leaving the house. I have large boobs and yes, they do droop. But not as badly as you would think because by going braless my breasts have been “exercising”. This site Awareness of Bra Usage has some info women might be interested in reading.
When I was a hot young 38B I only wore a bra when I had to. Then I got married, had kids and… almost never wear a bra. If my nipples weren’t deemed Public Enemy Number 1 socially… I would never wear a bra.
The scale stops wherever manufacturers feel like it. It’s a problem that every manufacturer names their bras however the heck they want. Those of us who fall between A and D are lucky in that these are usually pretty equivalent between manufacturers, but outside that range all hope is lost. They use whatever combination of letters they feel like. One manufacturer says “34DDD” another says “34E” another says “34F” - but all the same size. Some online suppliers have taken to creating their own sizing system and then slotting where manufacturers fit into a single scale so you can actually figure out and compare different manufacturers against each other.
The bra comes off ASAP after entering the house. I had a co-worker once whose sister took hers off in the car on the way home. If I could manage that, I’d do it too. And it stays off unless I have to go out and it’s too warm to wear a coat. If the neighbors come to my house, they know I won’t be wearing one. If I go to their house I put one on. Unless it’s wintertime and I won’t be removing my coat. If someone else comes to the door (a rare occasion), oh well. 42D.
I get changed into lounge clothes as soon as I come home, but even if I didn’t, I’d probably take my bra off at the minimum. No bra to bed. Sex is hypothetical, but taking off the shirt and bra would be part of foreplay.
I too am when post-coital couples fall back and the guy says “That was amazing” and I think, and you didn’t even get to touch her boobs?!
This is me, exactly. I wear a regular bra when I leave the house for work or errands and a sports bra for riding. I take either off the moment I get home. Definitely do not wear a bra when lounging around the house.
Sounds like me! Same size, too. I wish I could find a sports bra that was easy to get on and off. They’re difficult enough to get off, but try getting them off when you’re sweaty! I was once nearly to the point of cutting it off.
We live in a townhouse without a yard or patio, so we have to take out dogs out to the street to do their business. I need to keep my bra on, because occasionally one of the dogs will have an emergency call of nature, and no way I’m going out on the public sidewalk without a bra!
I am more comfortable in a bra, especially if I’m going to be walking around or anything. I’ve never worn one to bed, (unless I lay down to “rest” and fell asleep) and I’ve never worn one during sex, but sometimes, on a hot day, I will lounge around my bedroom wearing nothing but a bra. I definitely don’t take off the bra as soon as I get home.
Bra is the third thing to come off when I walk in the door, right after shoes & socks and before pants.
I don’t like having to wear clothing, in general, and the more constrictive the worse. If it’s just me and Husband I’m usually either in t-shirt and panties (if it’s cold) or nothing. If Roommate is home and I’m not in our bedroom, I’m in a longish loose dress or a robe.
I wear under wire bras to work, sports bras at home and doing errands, no bras in bed. 32DD (professionally fitted—it makes a huge difference in finding a bra that truly fits).
Can you elaborate, since I have always wondered about this? The same size in two different bras can be noticably different, so it’s not like you can blindly reach for any 32DD and expect it to fit every time. Do you mean that the fitting taught you what to look for in a bra you are trying on?
I took it to mean that a professional fitting gives you a much better idea of what bra size you really are (or are closest to)–so that rather than self-measuring and coming up with, say, 34A, you get professionally measured and discover you’re really a 32C. Then rather than the frustration of bra shopping believing you’re a 34A (nothing fits! bra shopping sucks! so uncomfortable!), you have the easier problem of bra shopping knowing you’re a 32C, so your problem are more along the lines of “this one doesn’t fit me right” or “this one has weird straps.”
Since getting professionally fitted (and frankly, buying better-quality bras) my odds of getting a good-fitting bra by picking them off the rack has increased exponentially. Before I’d have to take twenty bras to the fitting room and if I was lucky, one would be OK. Now I can take five bras in and be reasonably assured that I’ll like three or four of them.
Pretty much what Appollonia said. Getting fitted taught me how a bra is supposed to fit, styles that fit my shape well, and my approximate size. I was always buying 36B, and they’d gap a little or I’d have to shorten the straps to nothingness and use the tightest hook setting. Now I know where and how it should fit snug, plus I have some brands that I know I like.
It’s not for the faint of heart, though. Those ladies start scooping your boobs around and pointing out what is breast tissue and what is back fat. I look much better clothed, though.
I’m anywhere from a 36I (good luck finding that one!) to a 42DDD, although I can’t do the math to figure out if those are “sister sizes” or not. But I’ve found bras that fit within those ranges. Since the 42DDD is much easier to find, I consider that “my size”, but in all truth, it’s a little narrow in the cup. I tend to have a little bit of outpokage of wires at the center, but you can’t tell unless I’m wearing an exceptionally thin t-shirt, because it’s masked by the fabric spanning from nip to nip. I’d prefer the edge of the wires lay flat against my sternum like they’re supposed to, but not enough to special order weird bra sizes.
Anyway, with my last husband, and when I’m sleeping alone, I wear a bra to bed. Not a sports bra, a real underwire bra. Sports bras just make sweat and chafing worse, in my experience; I’m a “divide and conquer” kind of bra wearer. It’s not uncomfortable for me. My current husband really likes the sweater puppies, though, and prefers we both sleep naked, and that’s fine with me. I’ve had to deal with a lot more underboob sweat and prickly heat that way, though.
I almost always wear a bra when awake and not engaged in sexyfuntimes. Sometimes when I’m home, I get lazy and don’t feel like putting one on, but boobsweat motivates me to give in within an hour or two.
The only thing I find more comfortable than a good underwire bra is a well fitted corset. But those are even more expensive than good underwire bras.
Regarding boob-sweat, forgive me if you already do this, but have you tried putting deodorant on under your boobs? Just wondering because I used to have a problem with that, and deodorant helped. Then I stopped having that problem, and stopped putting deodorant down there. (If I recall correctly, I think the reason the problem stopped was simply because I lost my weight and my breasts weren’t so big anymore.)
