Apparently they’re either going to give her the world’s strongest Wonder Bra or the special effects people have a lot of work on their hands (though she may have had implants since).
The idea of a fashion model playing Wonder Woman is wrong on so many levels.
Agreed. A bulldyke would be more appropriate. Better still, to be true to the spirit of the original comic book, a bulldyke dominatrix. (William Marston was heavily into bondage and the stories often involved WW or others getting tied up.)
I… don’t think that phrase means what you think it means.
She looks the part to me. I never got the whole pasty-white-girl-from-a-tropical-island thing. Wonder Woman should be tan!
It was a backhanded reference to the feverish (yet not entirely implausible) accusations leveled by old Dr. Wertham.
Looks-wise, I think she’s a perfect casting. I’d never seen her before, but I think she’s got the look down pat.
Of course, whether she can act at all is another thing…
I still think Morena Baccarin would’ve made a great Wonder Woman. She’s not tall, but she’s got the exotic looks… and we know she can act.
So what else should Wonder Woman wear?
No, she’s too swarthy. The comic-book WW has been pale as milk from the beginning.
Jennifer Connelly before she caught the thins.
Liv Tyler before she quit acting.
Everyone in the comics back then was milk white, wether it made sense for their origins or not. If Wonder Woman is an Amazon, she ought to be swarthy, and the cultural homogenity of early 20th century America be damned.
Remember that the Amazons originally came from Greek mythology, and I’m fairly certain the Greeks of the classical period (long before the Turks conquered them) were not swarthy.
Am I being whooshed? Liv is in The Incredible Hulk in '08.
But they didn’t come from Greece. They were allegedly a tribe located far to the East, somewhere in Scythia.
And the people there (at the time, before the Huns and Mongols and Turks came west) were even paler than the Greeks; in fact, their red hair was a distinguishing feature in the Greeks’ eyes. (The Greeks themselves were sometimes blonde – Phaedo is so described in the Platonic dialogue of that name.)
They were Indo-European horse nomads. I very much doubt they were pale skinned, but I’m open to correction on this point, if you’ve got a cite.
Miller:
Yeah! And she should leave her armpits unshaven, too!
How’d you know I was into that?
I think it’s a whoosh – she may still be working, but that doesn’t mean she’s acting.
