Wonder Woman on DVD

One wonders what you did notice…

Oh my God! I am a guy and I LOVED Wonder Woman when I was little. I had a glass Woman Woman light cover on my ceiling and a Wonder Woman doll that you could chnage from Linda Carter into Wonder Woman. My father was worried that I might gay but if he had thought about it a little more, he would have realized that it indicated just the opposite. Loved that doll.

I am dying to get this DVD set! I used to watch WW with my mom (they showed it on, I think, the Family Channel for a while in the early 90’s), and I was always fascinated by the spin. It’s pretty much what made me the huge WW fan I am today.

I noticed what he noticed as well. Those notices were the single reason (or should I say “pair of reasons”) I used to watch the show.

I have to say that was the best show to have running for us boys coming of age in the 70s. That and the Farrah poster.

The wonders of course.

Wonder Woman’s
Amazing
Invisible Post!

I’m a grown-up now and I think about her tying me up with the golden lariat and making me tell the truth!!! :stuck_out_tongue:

I didn’t notice she had a face.

Man, I so wish I still had those Underoos.

And I’m such a complete geek that it’s possible I’ll make myself more bracelets when I get the DVD set. I know a lot more about crafts and the like now, I could make a kickass tiara, too.

The Wonder Twins.

Back when this show was still on I remember reading a review of it that stated “There are only two good things about this show and they both hold up her costume.”

Is it as cheesy as the Six Million Dollar Woman? I saw some reruns of that a while back and I was * amazed * at how badly it had aged. (Fembots with hairdos that looked like Jackie Onassis, for one.) And a budget of apparently $35.00/show didn’t help much.

Well, the first season of WW takes place during World War II, so the datedness is excusable, though I’m finding it hard to believe the special effects were impressive even when the show first came out.

The next season brings her into the “modern world” – that being the '70s at the time. It’s been years since I’ve seen any of those episodes, but I’m sure they’re painfully (but delightfully) '70s.

Me too. Over, and over, and over again.

And then a few more times for good measure.

Nitpick: the show starring Lindsay Wagner as Jamie Summers was The Bionic Woman. Lee Majors as Steve Austin was The Six Million Dollar Man.

Lindsay Wagner was pretty hot too.

But not as hot as Lynda Carter.

Wonder Women Fantasy versus Princess Leah Slave Girl Fantasy…now that would be an interesting battle.
I’ll just have to get both outfits for my wife and decide over a period of time.

Ohh, how I loved The Bionic Woman. Even more than Wonder Woman. I would jump and run in “slow motion” and make the “Chh-chh-chhh” sound for the full effect. I even brushed my teeth like that sometimes. I didn’t just like Jamie Summers, I wanted to be Jamie Summers. I told my first-grade teacher that when she asked us all what we wanted to be in real life. She replied, “No, you have to have a real-life goal. The Bionic Woman is not a real goal because she’s imaginary.” I then told her that I’d be a veterinarian during the day and the bionic woman at night.

I was a strange kid.

Jaime, not Jamie.

I watched TBW but it never engaged me the way WW did. I’d rent the Bionic Woman on DVD but I don’t think I’d buy it. Whereas WW was the series I’ve wanted on DVD since I had a DVD player.

I was a teenager when the show first aired. Seeing that gorgeous woman in that wonderful costume was a truly captivating experience for me! I never really recovered… I have been obsessed with her (Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman) ever since!

I have almost all the episodes on tape (either taped from the Scifi Channel or purchased from Columbia House!). I was ecstatic when the first season came out on DVD; I pre-ordered it months in advance from Amazon.com! The second season will come out in March 2005, I think-- I am really looking forward to its release date, even though the first season episodes were generally better.

By the way-- I already had my “superheroine knockout” fetish before the show aired, but the chloroform scene in the “Fausta” episode really hit me like a runaway locomotive! I have never been the same since! (I know, I know, way too much information, but sometimes I just gotta express myself!)

That’s right. The Bionic Woman was secretly a hispanic man.
