If we’re migrating this to road signs, a classic is a bilingual sign that essentially says “No Trucks” in English and “I’m out of the office” in Welsh.
The story goes someone sent english text to a translator, who happened to be away. Not knowing any different, the sign shop printed up his out of office note. :smack:
I remember a bit from an early Letterman monologue. Something like:
“I was walking into work this morning and I saw a sign that said, ‘Don’t even think of parking here!’ I said to myself, 'Well, that’s too bad, because that would be a really convenient spot for me.” Then a cop came up and gave me a ticket."
