Woodworker Dopers: Share your projects, too

The Crafty Dopers have created some knockout stuff, and kudos to all of 'em. I’m equally happy with my “crafty” side, but it deals with wood and screws and saws and paint and stuff, and I didn’t feel right posting in that thread. So here’s one for woodworkers – or, make that another one, since I’m sure it’s been done before.

Anyhoo, here, here and here are my three most recent projects, all quite modest, I’m sure. C’mon, woodworker guys and gals, drag out photos of your best stuff and show off a little. You deserve it.

Damn, I burnt out this spring doing leading a major overhaul on a wooden boat. The last this I finished was a 10’ Oar for said boat. I have no pictures of it so far, but it is a very good oar and a nice upgrade on are old 9’ oar.
You do some really nice work. I love the bench, what materials did you use to make it? Did you use plans? What tools did you utilize? That is a really nice jewelry box. I see nothing modest about your projects.

If you want modest, check out this page of mostly toys I made in recent years. Each thumbnail on the page blows up to a good size picture to see detail .

The bench is actually a glider – I couldn’t get a good angle to show the base. It’s just #1 pine, some wood screws, carriage bolts and glue. Primer and two coats of paint, color picked out by the owner (I made it for some friends after their porch swing fell apart.) I found the plans online at the Meisel Wood Hobby site. You can buy the glider brackets at the same place.

BTW, I love Smiley the Helicopter!

No pics yet, but my current project is picture frames. There’s a small forest of walnut and purpleheart waiting for me in the garage.
