Now, if I can get my wife to leave me alone this weekend…
I have not. My kid has… on my computer. And I shoulder-surfed, so I have some observations.
First, a technical one: If you’re running Win 7 64-bit with an AMD HD video card (HD5770 in my case), the game runs well with either the outdated Catalyst 11.7 drivers or the brand-spanking-new Catalyst 11.9 drivers. v11.8? Total loss. Complete game non-start.
Now: When I say the game runs well, it runs very well. Other than some incomplete models (floating heads instead of NPCs in a few places), the graphics are smooth, lagless, and nice-looking.
This is on a machine which is not top-of-the-line or enthusiast grade. Maybe a year old.
Sound was nice. My 5-year-old overheard the game in play and thought it was a Star Wars movie. He’s a fan of the franchise, so recognizing the distinctive sound effects is pretty good testimony.
The quests looked interesting, although there was still a fair bit of “kill x bad guys”. I only got to see mostly Republic-faction play, since the player in question didn’t feel particularly Sith.
