I have a form in Word. It is full page and has tables on it.
I am writing instructions for filling it out and want to use the form as a figure - slightly reduced to fit on a page with a figure number and caption.
I currently print out the form and scan it and save it as jpeg, bitmap, etc. Then import it as a picture so I can adjust the size.
Is there any way to skip the print/scan step?
Yes. Select the table, do Control-C. Go to the page on which you want the picture to appear and choose Paste Special under the Edit menu. You can choose either to paste it as a Microsoft Word Object Picture or just a Picture. You can then resize it by grabbing one of the corners and dragging your mouse while holding the Shift key (to keep the proportions correct).
Write back if you have problems.
Sorry, that’s supposed to say you can paste it as a Microsoft Word Document Object or as a Picture. If you choose MSWDO, someone can right-click on the picture and open it in Word, and can then edit it. If you choose Picture, they can open it as a picture and then edit it. They will also be able to edit it if you are providing the document electronically; choosing the straight Picture option would be more difficult for them, though.
Thanks. That did what I wanted.
