I shouldn’t really complain. Only have had that said to me once, six months ago, and I can understand why it’s said. But it irritates me when a good thread is hijacked by that. The thread is already going good, and saying that is not going to make the thread go away and bring up the similar 1 1/2 year old thread.

“Wow, (insert name), that’s a funny post–now I’ve got to go clean the soda-pop off my monitor.”
OK, it certainly happens. But I’ve seen the near-identical comment over & over again…
Another vote for “Preview is your friend”.
Like saying it now is going to make the poster go “OH! Damn, is it really? Well that makes the typos, messed up vB coding, and misuse of the word “the” go away!”
We know what preview is for, there’s no need to remind us of it after the fact.

Agreed. I hate the “I just blew [beverage of choice] through my [orifice of choice] all over my [object of choice]” Next time just say “ROTFLMAO” it’s equally original and takes less time.

I see it all over the net and I have to wonder Whaaaat the??? yer doin what with ugly mythological persons or do y’all mean trawling as when yer out fishin and draggin a line around just to see what bites?
I hate when someone makes a reference to something even kinda obscure then has to add, “10 points to however gets the reference!”

Yes yes yes a billion times YES!!! When you write with words, write with words. Will a few extra keystrokes kill you? AFAIK, ROTFL, IIRC, etc. are not words, and it’s a lot nicer to read words than abbreviations!
Also, please eighty-six the emoticons, unless absolutely necessary, and the ones with the grinning teeth or the extended tongue especially. There’s nothing that those emoticons say that good writing can’t.
Okay, I think I’m done. Please excuse me; I have to go spend another twenty minutes punching the wall…

If there ever was an over used word in my life, that’s it.
I love them all dearly but fuck, how many times in an hour can one use a word and not get tired of it.
