Words/terms you see so much on the SDMB that you refuse to use them ever again.

Chiming in, with bells on, I’m sure!

Considerably, really? I’ll consider considering that some time.

Assume, because when you assume you make an ass out of Uma Thurman… Bwahahaha! I just love that one.

Quite a few Pit insults, especially any noun ending in “…wad”.

All your base–

OWWW! That hurt, man!

Feh.

Some people are getting tired of “Hi, Opal!”
Not me though. I never got to use it. sniff

I’m getting a little tired of the “shocking” compound insults in the pit in general. All respect due to jarbabyj (benevolent spirit) because they were funny for a while, a while ago, but it seems to have spiraled out of her control like a linguistic Frankenstein’s Monster. Now I don’t even read them, they’re like greek, I just skip right over them to get to the substance of the rant.

More to the point of the OP, this board tends to have the opposite effect on me. Like hauling out the term “straw man” during a sports argument, or accusing people of trolling (!) in real life. Now that’s scary.

I’ve never really liked the word “newbie”.

testable hypotheses

Invisible Pink Unicorn
[sup](I can’t believe nobody’s mentioned that already)[/sup]

Felch!

Occam’s Razor
[sup](not that I don’t think it’s useful, it’s just everywhere)[/sup]

Oh, get off the cross. We could use the wood.

Witty the first time… grating the 50th.

Ducking and running. D&R. Any combination thereof.

Any sentence comparing a pot with a kettle.

In which I… It’s gotten old.
I’ve started getting tired of ANY stage instruction in a post. Scratches head in confusion I’m not sure what else to call it. Pauses, then scratches ass

Well, “protein homology” was making the rounds a while back, but that doesn’t count since I’m not intelligent enough to have ever used the term in the first place. Not using it ever again is easy.

“Preview is my friend” is a little stale, though.

“[something for which disapproval is being expressed] makes the Baby Jesus cry.”

I have never liked “Feh.” “Hi Opal,” I think, was always annoying to me but strangely intriguing; it both bothers me and doesn’t. I’ve used it once.

I must second the [partA][partB][additional parts as necessary] insult contructions in the pit. I’ve never thought they were funny unless contextually accurate, like all good puns are. Really sort of ruins the rant, IMO, and makes me feel like I’m reading someone who just wants attention instead of logging in a legitimate grievance.

One term which isn’t used enough: quantum mysticism. I love it.

Another vote for felch.

“methinks”

Ugh.

How about this way? Methinks “ugh”.

I’m completely sick of people who disliked a movie saying things along the lines of “that’s three hours of my life I’ll never have back”.

What three hours of your life will you have back? Sheesh…
