It has been an afternoon of torrential downpour here. The flood warnings are out north, west, and south of here, but not in my general area.
I just talked to the hubby, he and the boys are still at the paintball field and all are soaked to the bone. I am so glad I’m not there.
The great room has been mucked out, dusted and vaccuumed, along with the entry and front hallway. The powder room has been scrubbed, and now, I’m going to finish mucking out the kitchen area and maybe even wash the floors.
I’ll have to start chop-chop soon. I’m sure the boys are hungry.
I guess I should finish out the kitchen area. Bleh, still not feeling it, have made good progress.
So much for doing nothing - **FCD ** is in there putting up a wall. I’ve got a load of towels in the washer and a load of dishes in the dishwasher. We need to work on the chillin’ thing, ya think?
I thought someone had volunteered for Monday, but…maybe not? If no one else pipes up, I’ll concoct something.

I’ve spent the day being all productive:
Meeting minutes and agenda 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m.
Volunteer meeting 8:30 to 12:30
Lunch with brother, niece and nephew, 12:45 to 2:00 or so
Entertain nephew while brother spent time with niece (I think they spent the whole time playing tennis) 2:00 to 4:00 (We watched HP3 AND nephew played a game AND I cleaned/organized stuff.)
Went to get ice cream 5:00ish
Played tennis 5:30 to 6:30
Said bye to brother, niece and nephew 7:00ish
Started getting caught up on MMP shortly thereafter
Need to do more clean-up, but I’m tired. Maybe I’ll just go to bed early and clean some more in the morning.
My daughter is there, and all is well and she will be teaching their English class on Monday! Benjamin is as cute in person…and he took my daughter to school with him on Saturday. And they have a pet squirrel.
I should have such a life.
I liked the Francine story. I once got to be next to a drunk guy who all he kept saying was, “I am not an Austrian!” But he had on a funny hat…no lederhosen, though.
I would have messed with Francine’s head, but I not so nice, dammit!
Okay - it was bad enough that the last two weeks we barely made to page 7 - it looks like this week we won’t make it out of the middle of page 6. What’s the deal, gang? are all the loquatious ones on vacation? and who has Monday, has that been stated?
I just got back from a shiva call and I realized I do not have very many Jewish friends locally. Mostly I’ve been to funeral masses or wakes but the last shiva was for my own dad almost 10 years ago. My friend showed me what he’d written about his dad that he read at the service earlier this week. It was beautiful. It got me thinking about my own dad and my mom, and my sister, and my SIL, and I am very blue right now. It’ll pass, but I need to laugh, so someone tell a joke.
I think the loquacious ones are away (LiLi, for instance), or have their work access cut off (Taters, sean, Nava), or are out job hunting and posting less (swampy, Jahdra, Drae), or are on vacation Mindfield, or are starting to move into the busy season…me.

I’m still here(maybe that’s why it’s so quiet. :eek: ). Work went. Saturday at Dollar Tree really dries up the milk of human kindness. On the bright side, the Canes won, I’m off tomorrow, and I have plenty of beerverages on hand.
I’m still here! I think I’ll be back at the doc’s tomorrow though because my ear infection’s not cleared up properly. The pain’s gone and it’s stopped being all icky and gooey, but I still can’t hear out of that ear. I think 'im indoors has been deliberately sitting that side of me and talking 'cos he knows he can get away with virtually anything.
We put our clocks forward last night so I lost an hour’s sleep along the way. How is that fair? It’s still the weekend and I should be able to have lots of extra sleep. Bah!
Today I will be mostly studying, and doing a bit of grocery shopping later. I’ve got the final block of my course to complete and then the last paper has to be done by 17th April. Then I’m free! Partying will be the order of the day.
It’s still dark out, but I’m up and surfing. Critters have been tended to and spousal unit is still snoozing. Much must be accomplished today, with the result of getting both vehicles back into the garage, moving the trailer to the back yard, and parking the van in the side yard. In order for all that to happen, our various large remodel purchases have to be moved to the bedroom, but that can’t be done till I clean up the wallpaper border leavin’s.
I’ll be glad when it starts being light when I get up. I’ve still got about half an hour till sunrise this morning, although it will begin to brighten pretty soon. I’ll be interested to see how my schedule adjusts when I retire - or if it adjusts. Once we both decide to quit working, will we sleep in longer? Stay up later? Nap during the day? Time will tell.
For now, it’s Sunday funnies on line and faithful canines underfoot. So goes my morning…
Good mornin’ y’all! I’m up and caffienatin’. Don’t know why but I’ve been up about forty five minutes. I woke up, had to pee and then SPROING wide awake. So here I sit. Just as well, I do need to think on organizing myself to have lunch ready when everyone arrives. I just took roll dough out of the fridge. I need to knead it one more time in a bit and let it rise again. Then it’ll be fine for rolls to be made after church. Why do I do this from time to time? It’s because I like people and am a good cook. Well, that and it all started with the urge to smoke some meat. Those primal instincts will get ya in trouble everytime.
Another member of the up-early gang checking in. Not so good because I went to bed late, but, hey, I’m awake. So…going through more drawers and finding clothing to get rid of. Have I mentioned I have way too much of it?
So, I’m also caffeinating and going through all my sweaters.

My daughter and I are off to the grocery store in a few, then will just be chillin’. I’ma look for a roast for dinner tonight and -maybe- I’ll bake a cake (Swampy’s pound cake got my mouth to watering!). Then tonight we’ll watch the finale of “Rome” on HBO. And hope that TWoP will have fixed it so that I can get back to their forums (there is some problem with IE, apparently :().
Have you tried getting to TWoP with Firefox or Opera instead, herbs?
I’ve successfully cleaned out sweaters and think I’ve located all clothing that needs to be put away anywhere (remembered to grab the mending stash). Kinda read the paper. Am getting ready to go to mass and then get more stuff done.
Back from breakfast and getting more plumbing stuff and checking the boat. I noticed my cell phone was on the floor of the family room - odd - I know I didn’t leave it on the floor. I also noticed that my daughter called while we were out. It doesn’t take a rocket surgeon to figure out what happened. The phone rang. Scruffy lost her little puppy mind and attacked it, just as she attacks the vacuum cleaner. It stopped ringing, and she lost interest.
Luckily, I didn’t find any teeth marks or drool on it, and the phone is now back in my car where it lives. We had a message on our answering machine from the kid - she has some questions but she was on her way to work, so she’ll call us later. So there’s that.
Off to pick up border bits. So begins the second half of my weekend…
Good afternoon all! I got rather drunk last night and ended up playing a mild game of strip poker with my guy friends. It got down to where I had to take my shirt off but I asked if I could take my bra off instead (leaving my shirt on). The guys were happy to say yes. One of them decided to wear it on his head somewhere along the way (as one does, I suppose).
Being the only girl there last night, the conversation swiftly turned to mature and profound topics such as the length of one’s dick and whether or not making out is overrated and the appeal or lack thereof of a women who shaves down there. The guys would occasionally turn to me for comments or confirmation, but usually I was laughing too hard to respond. An amusing night.
I would have done an obligaroty drnken psot last night, but ended up falling straight into bed. But I still love you all !!111!!11!
Shower first, then brunch. Then work, I say, work!!!
Morning everyone. It was a late night last night, so I cat-napped in. I would have loved to have slept some more, but my back was killing me, so I had to get up. I’m drinking my coffee and looking forward to a relaxing day.
Dang, Swampy, I wish you lived in my neck of the woods. You and your food soirees make me hungry.
Wow, I’m sitting here thinking about what to say, and nothing is coming to mind. I’m still too tired, I think.
I’ll try to check in later when I can be a little more coherent and my thoughts are more organized.
