My son is about to get his nursing license here in the USA; he lived in Germany for seven years and wants to go back there as a travel nurse; however, I’ve been searching the net for companies that handle this and have been unsuccessful. There are only companies for sending “foreign” nurses to the US. Maybe there is no need for nurses in Germany? Or maybe the system is such that US nurses can’t work there? He speaks fluent German. Does anyone know anything about nursing in Germany and if they recruit US nurses?
According to this UK site, nursing positions are rarely advertised outside Germany because the hospitals there recruit from within the country. Also, according to some sites, there is a nursing surplus in Germany.
Hopefully, though, that page might offer some leads for you. Checking out online German newspapers might not be a bad idea.
Here are a couple of links concerning nursing in Germany. I did not specifically look at all of them but it seems they contain job offers and information. You might want to take a look there, maybe you can also contact some of the organizations from those sites regarding the information you need, they’d probably know best.
Thanks so much for the links. I’ll pass them along.
